At this point I'm keeping Mitchell outside. He's basically the lone bright spot right now on D. Leave him there and let him continue to get better. Put DeJean in the slot and let him learn by fire.

I've had that same mindset but if they are in nickel almost 90% of the time, play him in the slot. Rodgers is an unknown. He was CB2 all of camp and was making plays every day. He can't suddenly be bad can he? I want to see what he has.

Sheil touched on something I felt throughout the game, and mentioned it briefly earlier. That Moore was supposed to come in and scheme guys open and that didn't happen last night. Their biggest plays were either Hurts scrambles or passes off Hurts scrambles.

I get what Sheil's saying, but we have multiple TDs off schemed up plays. All the motion that we were running was designed to get a guy out of the box, to make it easier on the run game. That doesn't help the passing game, but it allowed us to control clock.

If anything, my biggest gripe on offense is not doing more to get Dotson going.

Tbh i rather move CJGJ into slot. I think that’s maximizing his talent. I think he’s a really good slot corner. I think he’s an average to slightly above average safety. Let dejean learn safety. Imo I think long term he’s better off at safety. Frankly you significantly  upgrade your slot corner doing this. Safety takes a hit but i think dejean/brown (when he returns) can be capable playing alongside Blankenship.

I think the defense will solidify after the bye week.

DeJean and Hunt will be up to speed, Brown returns, and Fangio will change his D-line rotation.

DeJean and Brown give you a more physical secondary against the run (the problem with Rodgers, Maddox and CJGJ).

I think they'll have to move away from the 2 DT nickel on most plays and maybe go more with a 4-3 under type front.

Nick mentioned the pass rush is impacted by the poor run defense.  When the other team is ahead of the sticks it's more difficult to get sustained pressure on the QB.  Green Bay ran 21 times for 163 yards.  Atlanta ran 28 times for 152 yards.

Eagles defense is allowing well over 6 yards per carry on 49 carries; at some point you've got to come out of nickel, no?

I'm not even sure Mann is capable of dropping it there. Which is why you bring in Elliott. But every team in the NFL seems content to just kick it for a touchback these days.

Yup.  So dynamic.   But, yes... bring in Elliott and drop it in the zone.

You mean multiple screens to our undersized punt returner in the red zone isn't a good idea?

To be fair that play did work with beasley

Thank you god for being on the crapper reading the Bible during Super Bowl LII and not paying attention and allowing the Eagles to actually win it!

Cole Beasley is a real NFL WR. Covey is not.

Ugh. What the hell kind of pass rush is that from Huff? Sweat is so wide that it will take him 1 second just to get to the tackle box. Jordan Davis, are you walking? I hate this defense.

Nick Foles night reminded me of Reggie White night.  I'm not sure which one was worse.

That was bad.  Brian Dawkins HoF Ring presentation game was another bad loss.   So many bad losses in meaningful games like this in franchise history.  Last game of the Vet.   First game of the Linc.   Just so many disappointing games in games that should be joyous celebrations.

Makes me wonder if that’s more geared to fangio or sirianni or just the eagles in general.

Might be about his FanDuel account.

At least my emotional hedge betting is making money. Won $50 on the parlay of the Phillies and eagles losing.

Huff doesn't seem to understand that he's mostly a one trick pony...he's not going to stutter step himself to the QB, he needs to win with speed.

You don’t want me betting on them. That tends to be even worse

I don't know how much of it is directly his fault, but giving up that drive at the end was so bad, I thought that kinda stuff was not going to happen with a veteran coordinator like Fangio. They overhauled the entire coaching staff and through two games it didn't make an ounce of a difference. And not a single player on defense is playing above expectation except maybe Mitchell.

People keep talking about Sirianni being fired, if he is, it won't be until the end of the season. That I'm supremely confident in. But if this team is like 1-4 at some point this season or 2-6 and the defense looks as atrocious as it did last night on a regular basis, I won't be surprised if something drastic happens. I don't know what that would be given they did something drastic last year with Patricia and things got even worse, so I highly doubt it would have something to do with Fangio. But I could see mass demotions on defense or a position coach going or something. Lurie didn't pay this new staff to come in here and stink out the joint like this. He's not going to tolerate it for a full season.

I do not think sirianni is safe through the bye week. That week 5 bye week comes at a pretty good time if you wanted to make a coaching change. I’m not saying it’s going to happen especially if the Eagles are real competitive in the next two games. Even if they don’t win I don’t think they make that move if that’s the case.

However, if they just get absolutely massacred in the next two games going into that bye week, I could totally see Lurie giving Kellen Moore the interim head coaching job. He would get basically a 13 game audition to show what he can do. If it doesn’t work out then you go into the off-season needing a head coach

Really disappointed with how Fangio called that game.  Way too passive.  No clear pass rush plan or stunts to free up rushers to speak of.  Very vanilla.  I was expecting more from him in terms of mixing it up.

If this guy is Mr. Accountable, there needs to be some hell this week.  Would like to see more of Booker and Ojomo at DT.  At least, we would see some hustle.  Dean is not a 3 down LB.  Combine him with Baun and you get 2 small Lbs who cant get off blocks.  Give White and shot at least one early downs.

I’ll go with last night because of expectations. Reggie White night sucked, but it was a lost season by then.

Bring in Belichick, he’ll clean up this F’ing nonsense. Plenty of talent, losing games like this consistently shows you it’s more than scheme, fit, etc…

I still find it strange how caught off guard we were about AJ saying he’s out multiple weeks during the broadcast. I would’ve thought that Schefter/Rapsheet would’ve gotten the scoop before Lisa Salters did in pregame interviews.

It’s funny that Matt Patricia was on the sideline yesterday when that disaster happened. also add the last time Vic fangio was on Monday night football was that Dolphins/Titans disaster which was eerily similar to what the Eagles did last night
