Not to diminish TE #! or RB#1, Steen and Johnson get my vote as players of the game.

I don't think it's possible to overstate the job they did.  I think they had a penalty or two...in a loud dome coming off the bench...but the pockets were exceptional all game long and the running game was cranking, often through them.  When the right side of the OL goes down and the replacements keep getting their name called out, you don't expect it to be for good reasons.

Was looking at the box score - we had 460 yards of total offense today - how the heck we managed to only score 15 points is mind boggling.

So Bryce Young completely done now, right?

No. He’s doing stunts for Little Richard in gay movies

There was no bigger critic of the defense than myself after last weeks collapse.  I put majority of blame on Fangio's unit.  Not necessarily for the entire game but that last drive they gave up to the Falcons.

Those that say this team is more of the same as last year, can you honestly say the defense is just as bad as last year's?  I don't feel it is.  Their defense down the stretch last year was beyond awful.  They do look better with the exception of that Falcons drive.  They held Atlanta to 15 up until that drive.  New Orleans was averaging over 40 ppg.  Held them to 12 in their house.

Meanwhile back in Dallas

This IS NOT 2023 anymore.

The issues we had last year are typical issues. So it's no surprise that we see some of the same issues again at times this year. What are they supposed to do, come up with all-new issues to make you happy? At the end of the year, last season, other teams were playing better football than us and we lost. This season we might be one of the teams playing better at that point.

Last week we lost a game we were in position to win by: first, failing to execute a good play call vs the defense used; then, failing to get a stop on defense; and finally, failing to come from behind on the final drive.

What did we see today? Pretty much the opposite and players stepping up to win against a favored team on the road. Boo-freakin-hoo.......

It's the same team from 2023.  New year, highly similar issues.  New year, sure, but 3 erratic games doesn't make them a brand new team.

There's always the XFL/UFL or whatever it's called.

Does the CFL still exist?

That’s not an excuse for making bone head decisions that most HCs get right

For the record, I was being sarcastic. I wanted siri axed last year.

Same team? I thought everybody was complaining we lost Cox and Reddick, or as they call it, "our two best defensive players." We added Barkley and his addition has been huge minus one dropped pass. We have two new coordinators.

As I said in the post you quoted, of course the "issues" are the same. There are only so many "issues." What I like are the positives I'm seeing. Players aren't quitting or moping. They keep playing and growing as a team.

Week 1: gave up 29 points but just looked better than last year.

Week 2: only gave up 22 points in a ball control type of game and looked every bit as bad as last year.

Week 3: looked really good all game long, albeit with zero viable edge presence, but folded a bit in the end, which has been their MO.

Overall, I think it's a defense that hasn't found itself yet.  They are going to have train wreck games and some really impressive games, as they are younger, faster, and more dynamic than last year.  But they have a young, emerging secondary that is going to have rough spots and a DL that will be very feast or famine depending on how well OC's take advantage of the complete lack of edge players on the roster...and that will make for some ugly 2 minute drills where QB's are playing pitch and catch to ruin games.

They're saying Smith was spit on. I don't see it but I really wouldn't put it past them. They've always been a dirty team

I see the spit falling, not sure it landed on Smith or was intended to, but he clearly did spit.

Some interesting stuff here.

In defense of Hurts, if the OL gives you the time and the pocket...then take it.  And ours often does.  So a high average time to throw isn't entirely bad.  But also...we all know that Hurts is slow to pull the trigger and often makes the wrong decision when he does.  And this is reflected in how much of an outlier he is there.

His average air yards per attempt seems rather low relative to the pack, but Tua, Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow are right in that same band...Mahomes actually lower.  So I don't see much to complain about there.

Did you ever pick a booger that made you feel alive?

Vikings are good.

How do you get pushed back 3 yards without a whistle.... that play was crazy. Reminded me of the time DJax got blown up by Atlanta. Dirty hit man. Trying to end careers out there.

Same team? Vic Fangio would devour 2023’s offense. Saquon makes this a world’s better team

Do you know who was missing when we scored every single point today? AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Mekhi Benton, Britain Covery, and oh yeah Lane Johnson

R-E-L-A-X

We’re 2-1 and have tiebreakers on 2 serious contenders for high seeds

Time to throw shows you trends...and leading the league in it is not a good trend.

But there are situations where you want to take a long time to throw.  Where it's the right thing to do.  And others where either pressure is there or someone is open and the decision and release need to be quick.  Different plays, different routes targeted impact how long the ball would ideally be held.  In general, holding the ball longer should probably increase the air yards, as you are starting to target slower developing routes downfield.  It's kind of a dirty stat that isn't well distilled.

People trashed Goedert this week, he had a huge game.

People are dumb. As I said, its been Hurts holding him back. It only took Hurts his 2 starting WRs, and his new favorite target Covey ALL getting hurt for him to finally start seeing his star TE. And look what he can still do. Amazing.

I just realized s Collinsworth is calling a Chiefs game.

Give Fred Johnson the game ball. He held his ground and was pretty much lights out. Felt nice not seeing the offense crater without Lane for once.

Feels good to have a backup RT. Now the game isnt over when Lane gets hurt. And, we dont really need to worry about drafting it in the 1st round next draft. We can take a DE.

Howie's midseason trades for anyone...especially defensive players....have been underwhelming, to say the least.

Yup. Howie nailed it in 2017 with Jay Ajayi.  Since then the in season trades have all been pretty putrid.
