Carter played 89 percent of the snaps. Whoa.

I give Howie a lot of ish, but he found a pretty damn good LB in Baun

Even when Huff does a decent job of setting the edge he still completely fails to set the edge. No awareness whatsoever.

Overall across the league there have been a lot of destructive decisions regarding 4th down. I hate all of the analytics talk because it doesn’t take flow of the game, injuries, momentum, etc into consideration. To just base it off of a probability chart is bush league. My issue with Nick is that he just doesn’t learn. Not kicking the field goal early last week ended up burning them. So does he learn from that this week? Nope and it almost cost them again. It’s just smashing your head against the wall and it’s ego football, not smart football.

Some of Nick's decisions weren't even aligned with the analytics.  He's literally making calls based on if he thinks someone will question his manhood or something.

It's like his girlfriend is watching him play Madden.

He's on the IR with an injured pride.

That’s doable when the D can get off the field, I think the NO offense only had like 50-some plays.

He’s not a fit for Fangio or any other DC who values instincts and smarts.

Beating a hot Saints team, in their dome is a quality win whether it was a sloppy one or not.

I did have a feeling that since the eagles like to keep us in misery they would win this game rather than just coming out and showing us they are a bad team. They provide this glimmer of hope showing they can beat good teams.

I still dont think they are good. But this could be another terrible year for the NFC where the eagles have an opportunity if they can get better at a few things.

49ers are hurting. Dallas has just lost 2 in a row. Eagles just beat the Packers and Saints who were two of the better NFC teams currently.

Leave it to AR to find that RB.

I loved Steele in the draft as a day 3 pick. Was surprised he wasn’t drafted.  What we saw last night was pretty much what he produced in college. Pretty sure he was a priority UDFA for most teams but if the defending Superbowl champion calls your agent, who do you sign with.

It's a bummer Fred Johnson is a UFA at the end of the year. Would have been a good backup OT on the cheap for 2025, but now he'll likely get real money in free agency.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the right side of the line. Steen filled in very nice yesterday when Becton went down. Is Becton better off in the long run at RG or could he slide out to RT and Steen is the RG?

Fred Johnson is 27, has started 8 games in his career with 2 of those at G. Not sure if spot game time here and there is going to warrant him a big contract next year. Is someone going to shell out OT money for what will be a 28 year old backup?

Becton needs an extension. Whether that's starting RG money or backup OL money is TBD. Again, Steen was very good yesterday. Both are young at 25 and 24 respectively.

Baun needs a 2-year extension.

I can see Fred Johnson getting a 1-2 year extension with a nice pay bump but also relative to his role on the team.

Outside of DE there is a lot to like about the talent on this team. DE of course is a critical position.

Baun has easily been our best defensive player over the 3 games. I'd give him an extension

They didn't just win they physically dominated NO in their home field, one of the toughest to play in in the NFL.

Mistakes are easier to fix than to find talent mid-season.

I expected an erratic team the first four weeks, so I didn't panic after the Atlanta game and I'm not panicking after this game.

Both Moore and Fangio are figuring out how to use their players, Moore now has to deal with 4 starters injured.

Fangio started with the 4-2 nickel with 2 full-sized DL, and realized it didn't work, now it's a 3-3 with one LB a "swing" player who can line up in a 5-1 or swing to 4-2, but you have 3 full sized linemen controlling the A and B gaps and DE/LBs taking the edge. Smith, Baun, Huff, Hunt are all suited to this role, but it'll take time for them to master it. The secondary is still a work in progress but the talent is there now.

I think the RO will gradually be phased out to become a "look" out of shotgun but not  a main staple. Hurts is still learning to play under center, but with Barkley, play action is deadly b/c you have to respect the run.

Hurts homers: if you take away the bad plays he made, he had a great game.

Hurts haters: if you take away the good plays he made, he had a bad game.

Reality: you have to acknowledge all of it despite your bias. He made some good plays and some bad plays. He has things to improve. He's not as bad or as good as some think on extremes.

Haters refuse to admit he has improved against the blitz, and stays in the pocket and makes accurate throws (used to be a common narrative he can't do those things).

Homers refuse to admit he doesn't do as well scrambling, doesn't go through enough reads, often misses open receivers.

He's not elite or MVP level, but he's also not trash or bottom of the league.

There's still a reasonable chance that Sirriani, Fangio and the lot are gone next year so that has to factor in

That back judge should be flogged for not blowing the whistle on the play where Devonta got hurt. He had three guys on him and they carried him back several yards. The hit by the DL that did the damage was vicious but legal but should have been blown dead.

He is clearly in the discussion for third-best qb in the league. Mahomes is obviously on a different planet, then Allen. But I would put Hurts up against anyone you want to put third.

That was a good win. No AJ, Smith, or Lane.

Barkley is a generational talent. If he catches that ball last week I think he’s currently the front runner for MVP.

Carter looked like an All-Pro. That’s huge.

Huff is still nonexistent. He’s a situational pass rusher. That’s it. Might as well start Graham because he’s clearly the better player even at 36.

I think the Eagles defense did to the Saints what the Falcons offense did to the Eagles last week -- big schematic changes that threw them off.

No doubt in my mind that the Bucs will have an answer for the 5 and 6 man DLs and I think the secondary will have to earn their paychecks.

One thing I'm wondering without seeing the All 22 or game reviews:  was Huff still getting chipped as much as last week?

The DTs feasted on 1 on 1s yesterday.  I'm wondering if that will now flip and teams will turn their attention to doubling the DTs and leave the DEs 1 on 1

The play calling is one of the biggest areas they need to improve, especially on offense. Barkley had 5 carries in the 1st half (zero in the 1st quarter), and then 2 in the 4th quarter (one being the TD).

So Saquon had 5 runs in the 2nd quarter, with one being the terrible fake tush push on 4th down. Makes no sense at all.

The mistakes are brutal and if he doesn't stop those it's a big problem.

That said I think sometimes people watch other QBs and only see their best plays and watch Hurts and only see his worst. I've yet to see a QB this season who hasn't missed a read or a throw.

I'm just catching up on the other scores around the league. How the F did the Bears throw it 52 times for 350+ yards but only run for 63 yards against the worst run D in the league going into that game and a rookie QB?  That kind of management makes Siriani look like a genius.
