I can see why someone would be irritated with CJGJ's antics and Carter going off on the sideline yesterday, but you need that type of stuff specifically on defense. It's more attitude than anything. And it's good seeing guys give a crap and actually hating the person on the other side rather than always being buddy-buddy with them. If CJ were on the team last year there is zero chance he lets Bradberry get little brother'd like he did by the 9ers pre game.

Carter is a legitimate psycho though so the challenge for him will always be finding where the line is and not going over.

CJGJ is this team's verson of an NHL agitator.  It's much needed.

I think i should get more recognition for the Eagles Win.  On my FF team I dropped Eagles defense (for Tampa's), sat Goedert (LaPorta), and Started Carr over Stafford.

Him and Carter.  My worry with Carter is that he would/will lose his psycho attitude playing next to Davis

The coaches job is to channel that energy.

He's winning the Heisman.

A few thoughts...

1. Shipley needs some snaps. Gainwell is the JAGgiest dude on this team.

2. Calcaterra should not be outsnapping Stoll. Smitty is a better blocker than Calcaterra.

3. Mitchell is going to be that shutdown CB draft pick we've all been waiting for.

4. Baun and Dean are becoming a real nice tandem. I'd like to see them start talking extension early with Baun.

He is not winning the Heisman lol

Quinyon has been incredible.

If he learns how to catch, he's a Pro Bowler.

That looked like plays I would see in high school where they held the player up so that he could be gang tackled.  That was dirty then and it is dirty now.  But it’s legal until the whistle blows.

I just re-watched the hit.  I think there's an argument the hit violated the helmet to helmet rule.

ARTICLE 10. IMPERMISSIBLE USE OF THE HELMET

It is a foul if a player:

  1. lowers his head and makes forcible contact with his helmet against an opponent; or
  2. uses any part of his helmet or facemask to butt or make forcible contact to an opponent’s head or neck

https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/nfl-rulebook/#article-10-impermissible-use-of-the-helmet

He leads with his helmet and hits Devonta in his helmet.  The only question is whether he lowered the head.  So, the tackle wasn't illegal but the manner in which he made the tackle is.

Not to mention the fact that he was already wrapped up by 2 other defenders.   The whistle should have been blown at that point.  Ridiculous.

Getting tired of our players getting injured because the refs turn a blind eye to roughing the Eagles

Incoming PFF score of 32.6

I was talking with my son about the game and team this morning.

There is a lot to be optimistic about.  They appear to have solved the coordinator issue.  They look to be seven deep on the OL.  Even without Brown and Smith, Goedert and Barkley are dangerous enough to win a game for you.  The DL finally showed up.  Baun looks to be a discovery at LB and Mitchell looks to be the real deal.

The pessimism comes from the HC, the QB, and Huff.

You can replace Sirianni and complain about Huff.  But we're not going to win the SB if Hurts doesn't stop turning the ball over.

Brown and Smith getting injured is not a good thing. I repeat, Brown and Smith getting injured is not a good thing.

That said, maybe we will run the ball more and Moore and Co will find out what Hurts can do well.

Also, why is Nick Sirianni still making playcalling decisions for our OC? I thought having a new OC would put an end to that crap.  But he mentioned in the presser that he overruled the playcall on that 4th and 1.

He was the highest rated DT in week 3.

It was a dumb decision to go for it, but he’s the head coach. He still gets to chime in from time to time. That’s the job.

Hurts homers: if you take away the bad plays he made, he had a great game.

Hurts haters: if you take away the good plays he made, he had a bad game.

Reality: you have to acknowledge all of it despite your bias. He made some good plays and some bad plays. He has things to improve. He's not as bad or as good as some think on extremes.

Haters refuse to admit he has improved against the blitz, and stays in the pocket and makes accurate throws (used to be a common narrative he can't do those things).

Homers refuse to admit he doesn't do as well scrambling, doesn't go through enough reads, often misses open receivers.

He's not elite or MVP level, but he's also not trash or bottom of the league.

Which is all fine and good if you don't have a HC who absolutely sucks ass at calling plays.  Leave it in the hands of your OC, you ain't smart enough for it, Nick.

That depends on the concussion.  Judging strictly by body language after the injury, I suspect Smith got his bell rung level.  Back when I was in high school, we would "shake it off” and go back in the game level. Lane was hunched in such a way, it looks like more cobwebs for him.  Protocol underway.

Quite possibly but I just feel like with the NFL these days it is harder to come back quickly from concussions. If I had to take a guess right now… I’d say based on their reactions Smitty might take it but I don’t think Lane will.

Isn't NYC basically well known for being the rudest, except that the movies and media make it seem "cute" and tries to give it an endearing quality.

I don't care about whether it was a "legal" hit or not - it was a scumbag move.  Devonta weighs about 180 soaking wet, and had already been pushed back 5 yards by two defenders.  There was absolutely no reason for him to throw that hit there - says a lot about him as a person.

We scored all 15 points in basically half a quarter once Brown and Smith were both sidelined. Sounds bad, but you’re right. Kellen will push Barkley more only when he has to

The mistakes are brutal and if he doesn't stop those it's a big problem.

That said I think sometimes people watch other QBs and only see their best plays and watch Hurts and only see his worst. I've yet to see a QB this season who hasn't missed a read or a throw.

Agree. Some of his mistakes are very frustrating, especially interceptions that were too forced trying to make a big play.
