He is not winning the Heisman lol

I could see him winning it just because the other top candidates are QBs on teams that may not make the playoffs.  Cam Ward is the odds favorite but if Miami doesn't make the college playoffs he could fall out of favor easily. Ewers and Manning are going to share votes.  Iamaleava and Dart may share votes because they both are in the SEC.  Both TN and Ole Miss may not make the playoffs.   Hunter will make highlight plays if he stays healthy. He's playing on both sides of the ball.  I think that will appeal to some of the journalist voters out of the regions where the other candidates don't play.

I think i should get more recognition for the Eagles Win.  On my FF team I dropped Eagles defense (for Tampa's), sat Goedert (LaPorta), and Started Carr over Stafford.

TN and Ole Miss make the playoffs. I think 5 from the SEC make it

He looks like a DB playing DE.

I can see why someone would be irritated with CJGJ's antics and Carter going off on the sideline yesterday, but you need that type of stuff specifically on defense. It's more attitude than anything. And it's good seeing guys give a crap and actually hating the person on the other side rather than always being buddy-buddy with them. If CJ were on the team last year there is zero chance he lets Bradberry get little brother'd like he did by the 9ers pre game.

Carter is a legitimate psycho though so the challenge for him will always be finding where the line is and not going over.

I love it. We won't see it from qb1 since he's such a humbled person

He’s Nolan Smith but with no possibility of a LB role in his future

Except Nolan will play the run, plays ST and generally tries hard.

Honestly don’t know a thing about his story

I agree, just hope he's not a one year wonder for us.

I don't think he is. He was just playing out of position until Fangio recognized his abilities. He's just going to get better and better with experience.

I just re-watched the hit.  I think there's an argument the hit violated the helmet to helmet rule.

ARTICLE 10. IMPERMISSIBLE USE OF THE HELMET

It is a foul if a player:

  1. lowers his head and makes forcible contact with his helmet against an opponent; or
  2. uses any part of his helmet or facemask to butt or make forcible contact to an opponent’s head or neck

https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/nfl-rulebook/#article-10-impermissible-use-of-the-helmet

He leads with his helmet and hits Devonta in his helmet.  The only question is whether he lowered the head.  So, the tackle wasn't illegal but the manner in which he made the tackle is.

there another angle that shows it wasn't helmet to helmet.

Hurts homers: if you take away the bad plays he made, he had a great game.

Hurts haters: if you take away the good plays he made, he had a bad game.

Reality: he made some good plays and some bad plays. He has things to improve. He's not as bad or as good as some think on extremes.

Haters refuse to admit he has improved against the blitz, and stays in the pocket and makes accurate throws (used to be a common narrative he can't do those things).

Homers refuse to admit he doesn't do as well scrambling, doesn't go through enough reads, often misses open receivers.

He's not elite or MVP level, but he's also not trash or bottom of the league.

That's all good but he's in year 5 with a stacked offense. Granted there's injuries currently

Not to mention the fact that he was already wrapped up by 2 other defenders.   The whistle should have been blown at that point.  Ridiculous.

Yep. What I've been saying.

I was talking with my son about the game and team this morning.

There is a lot to be optimistic about.  They appear to have solved the coordinator issue.  They look to be seven deep on the OL.  Even without Brown and Smith, Goedert and Barkley are dangerous enough to win a game for you.  The DL finally showed up.  Baun looks to be a discovery at LB and Mitchell looks to be the real deal.

The pessimism comes from the HC, the QB, and Huff.

You can replace Sirianni and complain about Huff.  But we're not going to win the SB if Hurts doesn't stop turning the ball over.

Hurts is capable of better, in terms of ball security.  There are two issues; the fumbling and the INT.  I think the interceptions will be easier to clean up; Moore needs to impress upon him how important it is for a QB to play a clean game.  Hurts has lots of weapons; just trust them to be able to make the big plays when needed.  The good news is Hurts has been quite accurate when throwing to his own guys.

Look at Sam Darnold.  He came into the NFL with a rep for turning the football over, and it followed him his first few years.  Small sample size this year, but the past couple of seasons he looks like a guy who's figuring out how important ball security is in a league where most games are decided by 6 points or less.

CJGJ has been responsible for badly losing his man in coverage on TD's in 3 straight games now, lot of talk about Huff, but CJGJ is quietly having a disaster of a season too, His one stand out play was stuffing Bijan in the Atlanta game and he almost negated that taking his helmet off, he somehow managed to convince the Refs it came off naturally.

I'd rather he covered his receiver consistently than run his mouth off.

I sincerely hope you're right. How long has it been since the Eagles have had a legit LB? The only recent candidate I can think of was Edwards and most were not distraught to see him leave.

He's been bad but he makes a splash play or two every game as well, like breaking up the Shaheed catch yesterday early in the game.

I think his field antics just make him look stupid and would prefer he toned it down to when it actually makes sense to celebrate.
