Going back through the box scores, and being conservative, I have both Hurts and Sirianni leaving 9 points on the board through three games.

Hurts with turnovers inside opponents' territory and Sirianni with "FGs are for p*ssies"

Don't be too hard on the guy.  He did attempt a 60 yarder!

Apropos of nothing that throw Hurts made in the 4th to Johnny Wilson was a great throw. Hit him right in the hands, he just dropped it. Also a holding penalty two weeks in a row by him.

Low key rooting for the Bengals to keep losing so they're open to trading Hendrickson at the deadline. Would help this DL tremendously.

Like Hendrickson a lot and he wants a raise, would Howie be willing to give up picks/players then make hendrickson a top paid DE?

I mean I like him but theres only so much to go around.

No, literally what Baun himself said

I said it last week. Our DL is told to play the run on the way to the QB. The engage the OL, peak over his shoulder and then try to make a move.

This negates the elite 1st step Huff has, and also puts him ad a disadvantage because of his size. You dont want him engaging the OL every snap. You want him blowing by them. But hes not really allowed to do that here. He does have counters but those are all based on his speed and quickness. He doesnt have strength counters. Hes just a little guy.

This system is not made for him.

Watch him on, I think, the 3rd play of the game. No system is made for him. It was as if he was blocking for the offense in order to create an open edge. Yeesh.

I think he was just allowed to rush the passer for the Jets.

If we can start building some leads - maybe Huff will have a role.

Again, how the hell did he look so much better with the Jets? I get he was in a contract year, but still....he's the worst signing I can ever remember and it's not close

Quinnen Williams. Jermaine Johnson. Solomon Thomas. Carl Lawson. He thrived in a limited role when offenses were focusing on all the other guys. Now that he’s top dog he’s not getting the same opportunities. Watching his highlights a lot of the time he was just a free rusher.

I have no idea if that’s actually true, just searching for answers like everyone else. Maybe the "sacks against backup T’s” argument also holds weight.

The Devin White thing is confusing the Isaiah Rodgers thing just mind boggling.

Maybe rodgers hand is worse than reported.

I believe he still has a cast on his hand so maybe they just want to bring him back slowly.

I really like Carter , you can see why he was drafted so high. Had a few moments last season but that game last night was when he arrived.

I just hope he can keep a lid on the attitude , be consistent, keep his head down and stay out of trouble. If he can do all that he’s got the ability to be the best lineman in the league

Robert Quinn was pretty bad. Even when he arrived in the building he was walking like an old man

Judging by his late game actions, this is still a pretty big worry.

Our "first 15" is such garbage I'm starting to wonder if Sirianni is the one that puts that all together

On KRs if teams were smart theyd kick it to Gainwell on purpose. Hes never going to get near the 30. I guess theyre just afraid Shipley might catch it.

He returned one to the 31 just yesterday.

And not wear down like last year, but when teams double you that's probably hard

I think something not being talked about and is a problem is Grant Calcaterra.

The thinking was that him being a better receiver than stoll was more valuable than Stolls blocking but Calcaterra not only has been atrocious as a blocker but hes offered next to nothing as a receiver.

How long til Stoll or someone else replaces his snaps?

Stoll may not be a great receiver but hes a superior blocker to calcaterra and a capable outlet receiver.

Never seen much in calcaterra, with all the injuries on offense last game he had a chance to step up and did nothing

SOB needs to face the reality that he sucks. How the hell would Jeff and Howie agree to that BS? You can keep your job, but someone else has to call the plays. Awesome. I'll just take over when I can screw things up the most

Was that part of the deal of giving up playcalling? Honestly Howie and Lurie need to rethink that one. He hasn't shown that he can correctly call plays so he shouldn't be able to overrule anything. Offense is supposed to be completely Moore's

What an awesome quote by Chris Long:

"I'd rather say whoa, then sic 'em".

Yup, this team needs dogs. No one batted an eye when DeVonta went down and no one batted an eye when Slay was in the fetal position after a late hit.

Right, its not the opera or tennis this is professional football, its a violent passionate contact sport, cant expect these guys to go out and beat each other up then walk to the sideline and meditate ...

Like the Passion Carter showed during and after the game 💪

Chris is missing the bigger point. If he doesn't care and doesn't think fans should care, fine. His HC cared. His position coach cared. Big Dom cared. Talk your ish but when 3 separate, high ranking coaching/FO officials are in your face telling you to stop, you stop. Find the line and learn not to cross it.

ANY play that was not a shot at the EZ was a waste there and stupid AF.  And a shot at the EZ there was also stupid AF. The correct answer is take the points.

The 60 yarder was also stupid AF.  PUNT was the correct answer, provided you block the rushers.

Love the optimism here. I think Sirianni needs to relax a little bit and take the points when they are there. I feel like he tries to give a message when he's so aggressive on 4th down, and sometimes that's OK, but you've played 2 really good defenses in a row, kick the field goal and try to avoid a 4th down next drive.

I think it was John Madden who said the first points of the game are the hardest to get. Something to that effect. There is some sort of mental hurdle that is crossed when you score your first points. That’s why I found those decisions in the past two games so frustrating. Sure, you want to get seven, but getting SOMEthing when your current score is at zero can be kind of uplifting.

Also if Cinci keeps losing maybe Drew Sample becomes available.  They play Washington tonight and Carolina next week though
