Chris is missing the bigger point. If he doesn't care and doesn't think fans should care, fine. His HC cared. His position coach cared. Big Dom cared. Talk your ish but when 3 separate, high ranking coaching/FO officials are in your face telling you to stop, you stop. Find the line and learn not to cross it.

Agree, there's a fine line and being defiant of the people you mentioned isn't great. But at the same time, I'm glad Carter shows he cares. One of the biggest question marks with him coming out of UGA was does he care about football. I love the passion so it's a start. We need this guy to be great.

Also if Cinci keeps losing maybe Drew Sample becomes available.  They play Washington tonight and Carolina next week though

How the hell did the NFL think Skins/Bengals warranted a MNF slot?

I think they were worried about a taunting penalty which is reasonable. Never know wtf the refs are going to do. Spike the ball near a player and it's a taunt

But I LOVED Carter's enthusiasm

I agree, just hope he's not a one year wonder for us.

Well they would want money Ala Edwards and White and Howie will let them go and we will be back to the drawing board. Howie does not like to pay Lbs.

A taunting penalty never would have mattered and the game was over anyway.

If anything I think it was more of a "calm down before something stupid happens and you get suspended".

ANY play that was not a shot at the EZ was a waste there and stupid AF.  And a shot at the EZ there was also stupid AF. The correct answer is take the points.

The 60 yarder was also stupid AF.  PUNT was the correct answer, provided you block the rushers.

Agree. He is an idiot. He lost the week before because he didn't kick a FG so he doubles down

Apropos of nothing that throw Hurts made in the 4th to Johnny Wilson was a great throw. Hit him right in the hands, he just dropped it. Also a holding penalty two weeks in a row by him.

The weird thing about that drop was that somehow looked like it was impossible for the ball to ever be secured based on his hand positioning. Not really sure how to explain it but it sure seemed to be an excellent illustration of why his hands were considered so bad. He just looked so damn awkward trying to catch a ball that nine out of ten NFL receivers would smoothly catch without any problems.

He CAN be a dominant force like he was yesterday. All he needs is consistency.

Low key rooting for the Bengals to keep losing so they're open to trading Hendrickson at the deadline. Would help this DL tremendously.

Trey Hendrickson would be fantastic. But Tyree Wilson, and Zach Allen are two I'd be interested in and have a decent possibility of being available. Allen might be the one I want most.

EDIT: TDIL that Ronald Darby is still starting in this league for the Jaguars.

SOB needs to face the reality that he sucks. How the hell would Jeff and Howie agree to that BS? You can keep your job, but someone else has to call the plays. Awesome. I'll just take over when I can screw things up the most

Yup its a good way to lose your OC as well.

No OC wants the idiot HC stripped of play calling making play calls at crucial points in the game.

I think the NFL knows that the best time to put the mediocre teams on MNF is when they’re doing those corny doubleheaders. They can kind of get buried there.

For all the love Kubiak got the first 2 weeks, he's apparently the only OC who hasn't thought doubling Jalen Carter is a good idea.

Night and day performance for Carter & Davis from first two weeks.

No, literally what Baun himself said

I decided to rewatch his introductory press conference and he said he didn’t know what his role would be here. Maybe I was thinking of a different interview he gave or maybe some beat reporter said he’d be an edge (at the time, I was like, OK, that makes way more sense). I remember McLane tweeted something after signing him saying the Baun wasn’t their final move at LB, or something to that effect.

This was from OTA's

Quote

"I have no clue why [defensive coordinator Vic Fangio] went that direction, actually,” Baun said. "I can do a lot of different things. If that’s where Vic sees me and he’s studied my film, he’s watched me. He’s seen me in the league and in college, he’s seen what I can do. And if he thinks that’s a good spot for me, that’s where I’ll be.”

Baun expressed some excitement about the opportunity to rush the passer earlier this spring but he’s also pretty excited to get this run at inside linebacker in these practices.

"No disappointment,” Baun said. "I’ve been playing inside backer for four years. I feel like I can do a lot of different things. There’s no disappointment. In Vic’s scheme, there’s always opportunities to rush the passer from the inside and do a bunch of different cool things. So, no, I’m chilling.”

"If there’s an opportunity to practice my coverage right now, that’s what I want to do,” he said. "I’m trying to get better at everything. After practice I’m working on my pass rush just in case. I don’t know where this is going.”

Maybe it's what you said, piecing together a bunch of different quotes made in the last 6 months. I think the point mostly remains the same, it wasn't really known exactly what he would be doing when signed and playing strictly ILB was somewhat of a surprise for him.

Cody Mauch is Tampa's right guard.

Mauch was bit light coming into the draft but could move well - JC moves better and is a handful to anchor against. 2-way go. Got to figure they’ll combo/double all day.

Again with these Eagles fans.

To be fair we don't know what's really going on as far as play calling.

It was Kellen Moore that is calling plays.  He might just be covering for Moore because the play didn't work.  He made the call to go for it obviously but not sure he called that actual play.  Maybe he did but we don't know.

I never see him looking at a play sheet and communicating a play into the headset.

Nick always takes the heat for the players/coaches.  He told McLane last week he overruled Moore on a 4th down play when they passed to Barkley.  It's very likely he's allowing Moore to make the play calls while stepping in and fielding blame for the ones that don't execute.

The decisions to gamble and not take points are something he needs to correct, though.

Again with the hens stepping in there!!

Based on his skills compared to hers, he should have just let her take the lead.

CJGJ has been responsible for badly losing his man in coverage on TD's in 3 straight games now, lot of talk about Huff, but CJGJ is quietly having a disaster of a season too, His one stand out play was stuffing Bijan in the Atlanta game and he almost negated that taking his helmet off, he somehow managed to convince the Refs it came off naturally.

I'd rather he covered his receiver consistently than run his mouth off.

He has been outright terrible and should stfu

It's much easier to double team when you don't have a 5 man front.

I think you’re missing the point. Teams didn’t take cheap shots when Jason Peters was here, or Jon Runyon. Or if they did, there were consequences. If the refs can’t control things like the shot on Devonta, his teammates have to. Somebody has to be that bd-a$$ me. Looks like Carter is that guy.
