Careful, you might upset some folks. Doesn't matter that it's been a trend for 20+ games and we have a losing record over our last several. We just won, damn it! Keep the main thing the main thing!

Here's the reality that Eagle homers aren't going to admit:

If it was Dak Prescott who led the league in turnovers over the last 20+ games and was the QB behind the biggest collapse in NFL history, would they still defend him?

We all know the answer.

Oh, I am.  One of the main things for sustained success in the NFL is the turnover margin.   Eagles are SECOND WORST in the league at -4.  Only the Titans are worse at -7.  And that doesn't include the 'Turnover on Downs', which is up to about 3 or 4 now.  Also tied for the second most giveaways with 6, again behind only the Titans who have 8.

Blocked punts, missed FGs, RZ turnovers... these are all 'main things'.

Yup.  Winning despite it all because this team has that much talent.  I don't like Jimmy Johnson. But he said post game... this isn't sustainable, and he's right.  Very much like 2023 so far.  They need to get it together or it will likely end the same way.

Yeah in a lot of ways but it feels different somehow. Can’t put my finger on it exactly.

3 defenders colliding on 3rd and 16 on the last offensive drive of the game needing to score a TD isn't a break?

I don't look at that situation the same. The Eagles had a good play design and Hurts checked to the right play.

The Eagles played a big part in creating that situation. And even if the defenders don't collide, it still ends up being an explosive play, just not as explosive.

As opposed to James Cook running wide open and dropping a sure TD.....or MVS. Or the many other pure luck situations that resulted in 10-1 last year.

Believe me, I'm right there with you.

I just think it's funny. If Hurts wasn't our QB, the entire fanbase would trash him

Agreed.  It was the Eagles taking full advantage of a bonehead decision by the Saints.  But 'luck' or not, the number of gaffes in that game by the Eagles aren't sustainable going forward to lead to victories.  Too many turnovers leads to 'L's, not 'W's.  That needs to get cleaned up... and fast.

BTW... I am not blaming Elliott for the missed FG against the Saints.  It was 60 yards, and even for a kicker as good as Elliott from that distance, that's hardly a high percentage kick.  The issue was the play call on 3rd down that lead to the FG being 60 yards.  Taking the sack was the worst thing that could have happened on that play, short of a turnover.   And as it turned out, that sack basically was equivalent to a turnover.  The Saints ended up starting at the 50 yard line on the next possession... and low and behold, they turned it into a TD.  That happens with a short field, even on a day that the defense was absolutely stellar.

This may be the last redeeming quality.  There's almost nothing left to like.  But this is what I like about Sirianni. Have seen it a bunch of times now at away games. Never saw it from another coach.

Yep - give credit where credit is due.

Sirianni’s biggest issue is that he’s the team’s "biggest fan” and that has led to questionable decision making, imo.

But no one is questioning his heart and how much he loves the team, the fans, etc

One thing we're learning is that you can bubble wrap your players all preseason long but injuries are going to happen. The Eagles are down their top 3 players already. Luckily, they don't appear to be long-term injuries but the fact of the matter is that guys are going to get hurt.

You really gotta act like you won the World Series because you won a division title. Hate it. Stupid.

Did they do the perfunctory beer bath, ‘brought to you by our sponsor’.

Maybe being bubble wrapped in preseason contributed to these being non long-term injuries since they weren't already dinged up. I don't think anyone claimed to have solved the injury problem.

Baseball has the longest season out of any major sport - 162 games and winning the division in baseball is akin to a "minor victory” especially after a such a long season.

It’s been 13 years since they last won it - let them celebrate - they know they’re not done yet.

Wonder why he’s putting this out now…

Good win from the Commanders last night.  Yes the Bengals are notorious for starting out slow and finishing strong but I don't care who it is an 0-3 hole is very difficult to dig out of.  Based on tiebreakers, we are tied with the Commanders for the Division but they lead because of a Division Win against the GMEN.  With that said, Eagles are the only team with a positive point D.  Thursday Night the Boys and GMen battle to stay out of Last Place.

NFC East standings after three weeks in 2024:

Commanders: 2-1 (-9)

Eagles: 2-1 (+7)

Giants: 1-2 (-19)

Cowboys: 1-2 (-12)

Devin White is in a contract year and probably wants to play.

We shouldn't release him. It's trade or inactive unless someone gets hurt.

I feel like 3 players is pretty good compared to some teams already

He signed a 1/4 million dollar deal. This is his value at this point in his career. He will be lucky to get close to 4 next year.

I beg to differ.

I believe they still very much have their best player available... and frankly, he's carrying them offensively, even in a game where they seemed reluctant to actually use him.

For those who are following at home...

Saquon Barkley in 3 games with the Eagles has 351 rushing yards.  Last season for the Giants he had 962.  Barkley is on pace to break that total by the 9th game at his current pace, and frankly, I don't think that he has to fall off that pace, unless he's injured.  He could/should put up over 1700 yards rushing, plus another 300+ receiving.   He should end up over 2000 yards total offense by the end of the season.

Baseball teams have been doing that since the dawn of the game.  Love it or hate it, its what happens.

Agent likely pressuring him.   White isn't happy.  But, I'm not happy with his paycheck and him providing nothing on game day.   He can cry himself all the way to the bank.   OR, he could just give me that paycheck, since I'm providing the same level of play on the field as he is in games.

Also to throw this out there... it is criminal misuse of Saquon Barkley, when we are down both starting WRs that after he saved the team's bacon with a 65 yard TD, that he got only 1 touch on the next drive.  Fortunately they wised up when it came to the winning TD and 2 point conversion... and used their most dangerous weapon.

But, how different is the game if they actually went to him on the drive with the missed FG?

IMO, the bigger problem is not giving more RB carries to our backup RBs. Our backup RBs need to get carries to keep the run game going and keep Saquon fresh. Less zone-reads, more straight-ahead runs with Shipley. Gainwell wasn't great on Sunday.

Was White promised a starting job? If not, then suck it up. Wtf man this is football, you aren't owed a starting job. Suck it up.
