I doubt he gets fired. They went 1-1 the last two weeks and frankly think that's good enough for him to keep his job regardless of how pathetic they looked today. If the wheels really come off going forward then i see them doing it before the end of the year. Maybe they do it week 17 or 18. They said they keep him then allows Howie to use him as the scapegoat for his lousy offseason (granted he’s definitely to blame as well)

That was my thinking. Had they lost last week, I'd say there was a small chance, but still a chance he could have been let go tomorrow. I think the Saints win bought him enough time until they're eliminated from playoff contention at least.

Stop. He had 4 receptions for 29 yards through the first three games. The team is enough of dumpster fire to trash right now without making up BS.

He has 8 catches today with the other receivers in. If he had started today would he have had 8 receptions today or did he at anytime last year? The Offence is too catered around WR1 and WR2 and if they're not around QB 1 is a deer in the headlights.

We have a really bad defense that is not going to improve.  Check out the stat sheet.  Nothing from Huff Smith Davis Carter Williams.

Dean is so slow to recognize his man to cover, is too far away and is too slow and small to get there and break up the pass.  Did anyone else see when Maddox followed his man in motion he didn't run behind the D line.  He ran all around the deepest part of the secondary and was completely out of the play at the snap of the ball.

Our front 7 is horrible.  Washington should beat us twice, same with Dallas as you give Dak all day to throw and he will beat you.

We split with the Giants for win 3 and maybe beat Cleveland for 4 maybe wins vs the Jags and Carolina.  That's 6-11.  Maybe we steal one somewhere else

and go 7-10.  I don't see how we could do much better than that.  Our D is terrible, which allows other team's D to tee off on Hurts, which makes him and the O worse.

You and I were aligned here. If the head of security is the heart of the time, it's over.

Lurie has to know this, right?

You would think.

I think the biggest problem on this board is the gap between production and expectations.

This was arguably the worst defense in the NFL last year.  This was a team playing as poorly as any team in the NFL at the end of last year...losing 6 of their last 7 games.  This is a QB who, outside of a sizzling 2022...has never been a good passer in his football career.  After an offseason that saw the offense lose a HOF center, the defense lose its best player and most consistent DT...................almost everyone around here just completely blew off 2023 and actually thought this team was supposed to be a SB contender?  I mean....?!?!?!!?!?!  Really?  That's some hell of a combination of arrogance and ignorance.

No need for burning pitchforks, shock, awe.  This is not a good football team and was never supposed to be.  You all deluded yourselves.  The defense has bad personnel.  The offense has a QB who doesn't pass well surrounded by all-pro but presently injury riddled talent.

.500 football and looking like this on the field is an expected, rational result.

I thought he deserved to be fired with how they looked last two weeks. And the move probably should’ve been made. But I knew Jeff was not going to fire him. Because I think he was too stuck on the fact that they went to the Super Bowl the year before, and that the optics of him firing him a year later would look bad around the league.

I firmly believe if Brock Purdy didn’t get hurt and the Eagles somehow lose that game, that sirianni is fired at the end of last year

And we look SO GOOD around the league right now.

I am fine with doing that, but I just point Pretty sure stoutland almost left last time when Doug got fired. Believe he almost went back to Alabama. So there’s a chance that if this goes down poorly that he either walks away at the end of the year or just retires. that’s not making me keep sirianni just saying to can get even worse.

Stoutland is the one person on the coaching staff that I am confident in.  The rest of them... meh.

At what point do you just deactivate Huff for a game? I’d give him one last chance to use the bye to self scout and show something against the Browns. If he doesn’t, he’s a healthy scratch the next week. This is beyond coaching now and the defense is at a disadvantage every snap he takes.

Howie won't allow that to happen

They aren't going to look like this every week.  Tampa is a team that thoroughly has our number.  Their HC runs circles around Hurts' weaknesses and their offense just picks apart the soft Fangio scheme.

There are going to be weeks where Hurts is dialed in better, Barkley controls the clock, and the soft bend-but-dont-break defense controls all scoring to a couple long, time consuming drives...and those are our ugly wins.  They will get several of those this year.  8-9 to 10-7 feel like the appropriate range of possibilities for this team.

I think 10-7 with a 1st round exit on the road makes a lot of sense.

What the F is happening with this team man

Coach and QB in over their head - defense too soft

No way Siri survives this season if the team continues this downslide. He's what 3-8 in the last 11 games. No freebies against the Commies this season. Even the giants will be much harder. Won't be surprised if we finish 6-11.

You’re not confident in this guy turning the d-line around? Specifically pushing Davis to improve his conditioning and get in shape?

TBH i thought if the eagles looked the way they did today against the saints and Bucs that he could get fired. The fact they went 1-1 his job is safe but really kind know where this season is going and heading

Think he’s stashing round 2s for them in the parking lot

On defense, you can either be fast and physical or smart and versatile. We are neither.

Of the two, we can only hope we can achieve the latter. I have my doubts given Nakobe Dean hasn't shown the ability to blitz, Reed can't play CF, our EDGEs can't drop into coverage or we won't play our best nickle.

Thank you Jerry Jones for not having the money to pay Henry.

Browns game is pretty much a must win.  That's a team that can collapse themselves, but packs a defensive punch and their own highly erratic but sometimes dangerous QB.  Giants game *should* be a freebie.

After that...@Bengals, Jags at home, @Dallas, Commanders, @Rams, @Ravens.................2-4 is a real possibility there.  So they need to go 2-0 against Browns/Giants.  Regardless, treading water around 6-6 heading into the last 5 games feels pretty realistic.

Talent-wise the Eagles should still win this division comfortably if you evaluate the rosters. If they don't then Jeff Lurie really needs to think long and hard about sweeping organizational changes. All the way up to Howie and everything else. This division is really bad and there's no excuse for the team to be performing this way. Lurie should be pretty embarrassed by how things have started.

The argument that we have a talented roster is without merit.  Our D is terrible.  Our front 7 is one of the worst in the league.  We are getting zero production out of the D line.  Dean & Maddox are weak links.  We have a good O line 2 great WRs a good TE and a great RB.  That's it for our talent.  The O line and 4 skill position guys out of 53 players.

I think we have a Giants game before the Bengals.

Stuff like this disproves the talk about character, accountability and winning.

Siri should be telling DARIUS to focus on winning games. He spent last year on social media hyping himself up then as well, trying to not get blamed during the collapse.

The culture isn't winning games. When you read between the lines on Hurts' comments he's not happy with the coaches. CJGJ talks ish then makes mistakes all day on the field, then celebrates a basic tackle before giving up another TD.

This team is soft and they actually believe in themselves too much. They need a reality check and tougher coaching.

yup-uhuh.gif

The culture crap talk that goes on is completely fallacious at this point.  If culture is the key, you win these games.  You don't continue to lose games hand over fist and look inept in the process.   You don't have morons intentionally pushing players into the punt returner and then getting on a soap box about how he did it on purpose and act like he was in the right.

This culture is crap.

No hope for a meaningful playoff run.  Just trying to prognosticate if there will be a playoff berth (I'd still say yes, given the expanded format) and how low they will go with the win total...as that will obviously have an impact on the offseason response.

This philosophy has been soul-sucking to watch for the past four years. QBs completing 70% of their passes, no turnovers, death by a thousand cuts. It’s such a soft, passive defense that doesn’t dictate anything. Fire the philosophy into the sun.

Unfortunately it's Jeff Lurie's philosophy and he insists we use it
