It certainly feels like the entire organization has been smelling themselves way too much since 2022. Howie included. Leadership is looking like a major issue now.

There's a whole list of things wrong with the team. Some fans fixate on certain problems but there are many.

And in any organization, it starts with the leaders.

The argument that we have a talented roster is without merit.  Our D is terrible.  Our front 7 is one of the worst in the league.  We are getting zero production out of the D line.  Dean & Maddox are weak links.  We have a good O line 2 great WRs a good TE and a great RB.  That's it for our talent.  The O line and 4 skill position guys out of 53 players.

The talent on defense is not terrible. Carter, Williams, Graham, Sweat, Huff(yes, he's talented even if he hasn't shown it, you don't get 10.5 sacks with the #1 pass rush win rate in the NFL last year without having talent). Slay, Mitchell, Blankenship, CJGJ, Baun all have talent. These guys are not all bums. And aside from having maybe the most talented offense in the NFL, they have one of the best kickers in the NFL. This is a talented roster. They are still favorites in Vegas to win the division for a reason.

I am fine with doing that, but I just point Pretty sure stoutland almost left last time when Doug got fired. Believe he almost went back to Alabama. So there’s a chance that if this goes down poorly that he either walks away at the end of the year or just retires. that’s not making me keep sirianni just saying to can get even worse.

I don’t remember that, I remember him wanting to stay because of his kids and loving the area.

I screamed at the TV when Nick called a timeout before half with 17 seconds left. And then DeJean catches friendly fire, Trotter flies in to grab the ball which was never touched, and they almost botched the whole thing. This team is just so poorly coached and if there’s a way to blast a shotgun at their foot they will do everything in their power to find a way to do so. In all three phases of the game.

I went to the game today - had great seats but unfortunately the game was hard to watch.

The biggest thing we noticed is the complete lack of "urgency” on both offense and defense.  It’s almost as if the team is "too cool for school”.  Not everyone but more than half the team just seem to have an "overly” laid back attitude  - and there’s seemingly no one on the  coaching staff or team that is willing to light a fire under their rears.

Both offense and defense came out completely soft and unprepared.   You would think they would have some sort of chip on their shoulders from being absolutely destroyed and embarrassed by the Bucs in last year’s playoff game but nope.  It’s almost as if they came expecting to lose and if they happened to squeeze out a win - that much better.

The culture of this team is an absolute mess - it starts with the Ownership and The Front Office for allowing it to get to this point - to the head coach that has basically become a cheerleader and yes, the QB who hasn’t helped the situation- with either his attitude or performance on the field.

The optics of this team wreak of disorganization - and the team being nowhere near galvanized and ready to go on game days.  Seems like they have some sort of bizarre "let’s see what happens” on game day attitudes.  And it’s not everybody - Chauncey Gardner seems to have a little fire under him - we probably need about 6-7 more guys like that - B Dawk would lose his mind if he was on this team - just an  overly soft culture which manifests itself as soft play on game days.  Really sad to see as a 35+ year Eagles fan.

That said - there are exceptions and you can see the players out there who have performed week in & week out (Barkley/Goedert to name a few) but having less than half the team perform to expectations will not work at the NFL level.

I'm surprised you didn't get hammered

They aren't going to look like this every week.  Tampa is a team that thoroughly has our number.  Their HC runs circles around Hurts' weaknesses and their offense just picks apart the soft Fangio scheme.

There are going to be weeks where Hurts is dialed in better, Barkley controls the clock, and the soft bend-but-dont-break defense controls all scoring to a couple long, time consuming drives...and those are our ugly wins.  They will get several of those this year.  8-9 to 10-7 feel like the appropriate range of possibilities for this team.

I think 10-7 with a 1st round exit on the road makes a lot of sense.

3 years in a row.  Somehow the HC that keeps getting exposed is as safe as ever.

Was way too hot for that today - blazing sun with 105+ "feel like temperature” out there.  Drank a lot of water - that’s about it.

Felt like a 1-2-3 Cancun game because they have a bye week.

Poor choice. You should've loaded up on vodka. This team is unwatchable sober

Chris Collinsworth with an all time cringe joke. "I believe Justice Hill should be at the Supreme Court but anyway” or something along those lines. Yikes.

You’re not confident in this guy turning the d-line around? Specifically pushing Davis to improve his conditioning and get in shape?

I wouldn't say a negative thing about him where I'd think he might see it.  But, I still don't know if he's a good coach.  Carter really showed up for one game.  He was knocked out of today's game, but was invisible the first two weeks.  With the investment made along the DL they should be dominant... but they are not.  Quite the contrary, actually.  Generally, they are being dominated.

I remember that and a report he was likely to take the job. Obviously he didn’t but I think part of that was Lurie making him one of, if not the most, highest paid assistant coaches.

Raymond James sobers you up quick with all the heat and sweating. I went in 2018 and probably never will again if it’s in September/October.

First line made me chuckle, touché. But yes he theoretically should have talent to work with and either they all stink it would appear minus Carter last week and Graham. He’s either not a good coach, they’re lacking talent where they expected, it’s Fangios fault, or all of the above.

The first I heard Carters name today was when they said he had to leave the game. Not a good sign for the prospective DPOY.

I think the defense could use a little bit more symmetry and traditional alignment than what Fangio and his proteges have been doing, specifically in the front 7.  The 3-4/5-2 base with Williams/Davis/Carter/Sweat and Huff as a rush OLB in a 2 point stance is just an awkward fit for all of them.  And then against 11 personnel, you usually see Huff (or Smitth or BG) in that 2 point stance with Sweat on the other edge in a 2 point stance and then two DTs as down linemen.  That seems to put a significant strain on Baun and Dean.

Other times, they vary from 5 guys on the line to as little as 2.

Vic...it's not working.  Pick a damn front.  Be a 3-4.  Or be a 4-3.  We've proven for 2 years now that it's only outsmarting our own players.  Teams just roll the play right into Huff/Nolan Smith and the ball carrier reliably explodes upfield.

he ultimately came back but i don’t think it was much of a lock as we think. That didn’t get out there by saban by accident.

Turns out Hurts playing so well in camp had more to do with him playing against a Fangio Eagles D that makes all qbs look like Dan Montana Elway...😒

I still think the defense is going to suck this season but I do leave open a crack of optimism it could improve. Especially if they eventually add a pass rusher. But that Browns game will definitely be a major inflection point for me. Assuming Watson is still starting. He’s the worst QB in the NFL and their offensive line has been awful. As has their entire offense. If they get lit up against them then take a wrecking ball to the whole damn thing. Everything should be in play. Benchings, firing position coaches, whatever.

Hurts sht don’t stink attitude has always bothered me but this year it’s really grinding my gears.

Sirianni is a bozo.   He doesn't seem to actually know how to hold players accountable.  If he did... then they would actually be accountable and on Twitter focusing on how great he was back in the day, or standing in front of cameras saying how his decision to push a player into a punt returner was a good thing.  Or CJGJ holding court and mouthing off like he does so frequently.  Or guys trying to be cryptic with their nonsense on social media (Huff, White, etc.).

This team... there is no team.

Seemed like a lot of guys were out there making business decisions when it came to tackling, just complete lack of effort and willingness to put their bodies on the line…didn’t want to mess up their bye week plans by possibly being hurt

I give Trotter props for that play.  He didn't know if it had or hadn't been touched and the ball was moving backwards after having landed near the returner.  So, he made sure, because earlier in the game, they lost a possession on a similar play.   Trotter made a nice play there in my book.
