Turns out Hurts playing so well in camp had more to do with him playing against a Fangio Eagles D that makes all qbs look like Dan Montana Elway...😒

I think they played well the first 3 weeks.  Not great or anything but good enough to win games

Week 1 they were put in bad situations multiple times because of Hurts turnovers.   They gave up yards but held them to FGs enough times.

Week 2 they held Atlanta to 15 up until that last drive by them. Not excusing that final drive but held them pretty well until that point.

Week 3 they played really well. Held New Orleans to 12.  It was impressive and i think some of us thought maybe we found something.

Then today happened and I don't know what happened.  I'd like to think Fangio knows what he's doing and will make some adjustments if teams in the future start throwing quick and getting the ball out fast constantly. TB did that and it took way too long to finally adjust.

Coleman did everything perfectly, except the important part

What did you guys expect the team would be after 4 games. If you told me we would be 2-2 with AJ Brown missing 2 games, Smitty missing a game, Lane missing a game and a half, I think you would be happy with 2-2.

Before the season started you would think Atlanta would be a win in the home opener on Monday night. Then you have GB in Brazil, and 2 road games against NO and TB. You would hope to get 2 out of those 3 but they could go either way. 2-2 is about where they should be.

Context matters for me. If they just lost today it would be one thing but they were thoroughly embarrassed at every level. It feels like they are lucky to be 2-2.

Bills should call the raiders and ask what it would take to get Adams. It’s all fun and games beating up the jags and dolphins but when you run into Baltimore and chiefs have to have reliable playmakers. They have Kincaid and cook (not including Allen). That’s about it. Everyone else is miscasted in the depth chart.

How many snaps? Maybe the kneel down to kill the second half?

2-2 and not in any meaningful SB contention discussion is about where they should be.  Doesn’t mean there is reason to be happy about it.

In fairness i thought they’d get embarrassed in both of these games. Thankfully the saints don’t run 11 personnel as much

This team doesn’t look any different than it was last year. It goes beyond the record to me. Hurts is still a turnover machine, the defense is still inconsistent and soft, the offense still relies on out-talenting the opposition instead of scheme. It all just looks the same and isn’t passing the eye test. Barkley has been exactly what I expected as far as him being the best player on the team. That’s been the only positive.

Exactly, it's not about the record. It's about how they're playing, exactly like last season. They were playing like absolute crap from week 1, but people kept pointing at their record "oh they're 6-0, 9-0, 10-0" and then finally their terrible play caught up to them and they collapsed. Crazy how many people watched last season and are acting like this team is fine when it's a carbon copy, they just aren't getting lucky and winning like they were last year

Why does it seem like people in the media are so scared to say Hurts is on the same level as bad Carson Wentz? For some reason they have no issue when it comes to saying Wentz was bad, when you can list of reasons that lead to his demise but when it comes to saying Hurts is bad they don't want to.

Nope

time to fire Nick and let Moore have a go at it

Agree but I'd like to see the team, specifically the offense get AJ, DeVonta and Lane back.  If they're still having trouble scoring 20 with those guys back then it's over.

I expect when they are back for the offense to be scoring at minimum 30 a game.  No excuses.

Dont want to be called boob

One thing that I wasn’t on board with that I think I’m coming around to is that the Fangio scheme is a big problem. Not necessarily because "the NFL has figured out that scheme” although I’m not writing that off as being part of it. But more like maybe this scheme isn’t best for the players on this roster. They’ve had this scheme for 4 years, it hasn’t worked, and I just think it’s time for a new set of eyes and a fresh approach on defense. It’s pretty absurd that after how last season ended their solution was "More Fangio scheme!”

Nothing they did coaching wise back in January made any sense. Keeping Sirianni and constructing this coordinator paradigm and then bringing in more Fangio scheme. I just don’t get anything they did in that regard. It didn’t feel like it made any sense then and it’s looking that way on the field.

I actually agree. The defense, as infuriating to watch as it is, actually has done a decent job up until today. I personally don't blame the defense for any loss where the offense 1) struggles to score in the first half and 2) struggles to score 20 points. This defense is bad, we knew going in it was going to be bad. They just don't have the horses. The offense has no excuse to be as bad as they've been, and they've been horrendous.

I think the issue there is that they aren't running good camps.  We've learned at this point that Hurts is a turnover machine.  If the buzz from camp is that Hurts isn't letting a ball hit the ground and hasn't tossed a single INT (defenders are making plays on his passes multiple, multiple times per game)....then the coaches are obviously doing a horrible job simulating game situations if he was allowed to look that good in camp.

I get that the defense isn't good, but the 1's on offense are often going up against a second team defense anyway in camp.  I'm OK with little to no contact, but they are just doing a bad job of simulating this.

If someone...no, everyone in the media and coaching staff...could watch Hurts in camp and talk about how he's protecting the ball incredibly well...then they are doing something wrong in camp.

That’s another thing we discussed after the game today - brand new coordinators and systems on both offense & defense and they run one of the weakest and softest camps and pre-seasons in the entire NFL.

If there was a year that they should have played starters during the pre-season- this would have been the year.

If that’s not a "soft culture” I don’t know what is.

Dallas Goedert is overrated.

I don’t think so. He’s properly rated.

However, I do think Darius Slay is. Never wins matchups against good receivers. I’d move him if I could and play Rodgers and Ringo.

We can stop worrying about a team signing Fred Johnson as their starting RT next year.

All I know is this, the Eagles with their turnover problem look exactly like they did when Carson Wentz was at quarterback his last year in 2020. The Eagles are 3-10 in their last 13 games. Go watch those last 13 games and tell me for the most part they don’t look somewhat similar to what they did in 2020. Fans were destroying Carson wentz, pederson and the team. rightfully so because wentz was awful, so was the collection of talent and so was the coaching.

meanwhile they have far more talent than they had during that year even today the eagles had more talent on the field then that 2020 season. At some point in time when you consistently fumble the ball, turn the ball over and just look dysfunctional on offense for the better part of three games then it is a big-time problem. It starts with coaching which has been poor. It starts with your Qb that hasn’t played like 2022 hurts in a while now (especially since the Buffalo game). And a defense that has a schematic problem and lack of talent problem. Also Howie can’t sustain his teams excellence for long than 1-2 years

What a throw.
