Offensively, getting AJ, Smitty and Lane back will likely make Hurts look OK again.

Defensively, Vic is going to have move off the 2 gap, 2 high safety, off coverage combination every play. It’s brittle against the run, it slows the pass rush and it allows quick&easy passes underneath. This doesn’t necessarily mean he has to go to strictly a C1 press/ C3 scheme, but just varying those controls might put some indecision into the mind of the opposing OC/QB and generate some negative plays (albeit at this risk of something over the top).

are guys trying to get cut off this team.  why would Rodgers say he purposefully pushed the guy into Dejean on the punt?  and white with the tweets.  both these guys have reason to want to get cut.  I wonder what behind the scenes ish they are throwing around.   eagles have to start removing the dead weight.

Can’t comment on White’s tweets, but with Rodgers, it’s on par with McNabb not knowing games could end in ties. Just flat out ignorance of the rules.

Rodgers didn't know the rules. 

I mean come on. You're a professional player who's had a year off and still don't know the rules. idk what else he did in the game, probably nothing, but thats inexcusable.

Fangio seems like the type of old school coach who will refuse to change his horrible soft ass scheme and refuse to run more press coverage. What also sucks is that the defense is absolutely horrendous at tackling which also is a reflection on this bum Fangio and just coaching in general.

The defensive game plan against Atlanta couldn't have been more obvious, but they gift wrapped that game for Cousins by playing soft and barely touching him.

Yesterday, half your offense is out, it's hot outside so you want to hold possession.  So run the f'ing ball.  Nope, let's have Hurts throw passes against an aggressive blitz scheme.

2/4 games have been lost by the coaching staff IMO.

 

With Hurts, it's almost like they want to avoid the turnover topic at all costs so that it doesn't become a mental hurdle for him.  I think Sirianni is lost and too inexperienced to have the balls to do what needs to be done, and we have poor veteran leadership so it's just the inmates running the prison 

 

 

Kinda similar to what I posted last night. The Eagles NEVER do the obvious. If the game lines up for a heavy dose of running the ball because the opponent is giving up 5ypc, they will abandon the run and pass it 50 times. If a QB is getting sacked at an alarming rate, they will play CB 10 yards off and not rush the passer and so on and so on. It's the most frustrating thing and I don't know why they continually do it. It's not a one off thing, it's a trend, every single time.

I'll go back to the same point.

We have a top 3 RB, top 5 WR, another top 15 WR, top 10 TE, top 5 OL. Even if a few of these are hurt, hell even if Hurts sucks (at this point, we have to consider it), this should STILL be a great offense.

1) Hurts is an enigma, he will both help and hurt you at the same time

      His turnovers - no excuses.

      Little trust/ low anticipation

2) we way over rated our defense. 

     The D line is not that great - mostly the DE's are the issue

     The secondary still gives up way to much......

     anybody ever here of tackling?

     Dont create turnovers.

 

when you have a turn over prone QB and a Defense that doesn't create turn overs, you wont be consistently successful.

 

Things wont chan until those two are changed.

How is that not a coaching point for the guys on the outside?   Seems kind of important.

At least in regard to tackling - Vic actually wanted to practice this summer, Nick did not.

Also in terms of training camp, maybe after 3 seconds they should have just blown the whistle and yelled sack on all those 7v7s that Jalen excelled at. Holding the ball is rarely a good thing.

This loss was on the D who let the game get out of hand.  They were pathetic.

Having said that, Hurts/Moore didn't save the team and win the game.  I hope down the road that Moore understands what he is working with and comes in with a much better game plan should he face this type of scenario again.  Hurts is just fine with all the pieces around him but he isn't going to put 30 up using the normal approach with no wideouts.
