The game was over by the second quarter when Tampa went up 24-0. Defenses tend to lighten up when they get a big lead. It’s the classic Dak scenario where he ends up throwing for 350-400 yards but it’s essentially garbage time and he makes the game closer than it was because they were down 3 scores early.

That's a fair point. But they won the Saints game - a game everyone thought they'd lose in a blowout - and were able to get Barkley and Goedert involved big time.

Then the following week they limit Barkley's touches...in a half where they have gained 0 yards. Just inexcusable.

The best magic bullet to cure Hurts' fumbling problem is for Hurts to get the ball out faster.  He has the mobility to buy time and occasionally break off a good run, but he's not a dynamic player with the ball in his hands the way Lamar Jackson is; he's probably not even as exciting as Josh Allen is.  Jayden Daniels is dynamic carrying the football -- I wouldn't be surprised to see him score a 60+-yard TD run on the Eagles defense the way they're playing.  Mitchell is the only player in the secondary fast enough to chase him down if he gets loose.

I went back and watched part of the Bucs game again.  The run defense still isn't nearly good enough; both Bucs RBs averaged 4.9 yards per carry.  That's helping to kill the pass rush.  Teams just aren't in 2nd and long or 3rd and long nearly enough.  The tackling was atrocious, especially from the secondary.  Slay, CJGJ and Maddox are all awful at tackling.  Mitchell misses occasionally but is much better than the others.  Blankenship is the best tackler of the group.

Somehow he's slower this season. Curious if in the offseason we'll hear how he's been dealing with an injury the entire season

Yup. In 2021, I wasn’t part of the Hurts fan club, but I did give him props for being good with taking care of the ball, Giants road game aside as those games do happen. I don’t like his inconsistent play, and it’s frustrating because he does make good plays at times, so it’s in him to do so, but the turnovers got old a long time ago.

I wasn't a fan until 2022 and slowly thinking we're just doing the same thing we did with Wentz. Would love to be proven wrong though

My reasoning for getting Bill is the team is an undisciplined mess. I'm not sure another young HC with no experience will be able to get it under control. Belichick has the cache to make the hard decisions and hold guys accountable.

For instance -- Slay should be benched for Rodgers or Ringo. He's a headache and not playing well. A young coach may not have the balls to do it, but Bill would.

One of the traits I heard in the offseason was Fangio would get the best out of the players because he didn't care if they liked him or not. We've yet to see that but I want no part of Bill

Just saw Justin Fields has a higher passer rating than Hurts. Yikes.

OK, so why did you continue to play off 88% of the snaps? Make the adjustment numbnuts.

I'm not opposed to a defensive coach at this point.  Fangio system seems obsolete, and we have defensive talent to be utilized.

I also think Moore may be a good enough offensive minds to ruin that side of things by himself.  And maybe that level of autonomy as an OC for a defensive HC might be enough power to keep him around rather that searching for a HC job himself.

Freudian slip or a typo?

If they get it turned around and make a decent playoff push then a lot of this "goes away”.

Heck, if they come out on fire and win 3-4 in a row and play hard after the bye week, a lot of this will go away.

I agree. But I don’t have that kinda faith in Siranni or Hurts

Correct me if I’m wrong but Daniel jones has a better rating than hurts too I think

what did y'all see in this clip that I didn't?

Its fine to call out teammates, calling out ones own teammate on a podcast with not just nother teams player but a divisional rivalry isnt cool

I guess in this modern age of instant infirmation the sanctity and brotherhood of the locker room is a myth

I think it looks/sounds worse than it is for a few reasons, 1. Its with a cowboy, 2 its coming right after slay had s since deleted controversial tweet

3 its coming after a loss where the whole D got smacked down, including no play Slay

Not a good look all around especially coming from a captain.

Eagles fire Sirianni and bring back Brian Johnson as HC to appease Hurts. Make it happen.

Look what Darius started.

Jones is 5 points behind.

Amon-Ra St. Brown has a higher passer rating than Hurts though.

CORRECT!

They were going to go into a bye, so he would have time to rest... and AJ Brown should return after the bye and you won't need to lean on him the same way.   But, for that game they absolutely needed to use their only remaining superstar.  And instead they put him on ice.    I get the heat and all of that, but only 10 carries?   That's inexcusable.

Barkley is averaging 6.0 yards per carry, tied with Derrick Henry and only 0.1 yards per carry behind the top runner - JK Dobbins.   It is incompetence by the coaching staff to allow the Bucs to dictate away from riding him because they were going with heavy fronts.   If they do that, you go to a heavier front as well and have enough hats available to block.

They want to play with 8 or 9 in the box... go to 12 personnel and just beat them up.   Use him on screens, use him in jet motion, but USE HIM.

"The defense let him down”…. as he goes three and out on the first three drives.

I was certain that Barkley was going to be a huge part of the offense Sunday because AJ and Smith were both out and they needed to replace that production. My bonus pick this past week was Saquon going for 150 plus total yards (pretty much evenly split rush and pass) and 2 TDs. I was surprised he didn't get more pass targets, Moore likes to use the RB in 5 wide even...just baffling he didn't get more touches.

Given that we were forced to rely on Campbell and Ross for snaps due to the injuries, going to 12 personnel wouldn’t necessarily be much of a loss. Probably could’ve used the TE2 to chip as well, based on the day Fred was having.

It was the only option.   My bonus for the week was for 40+ carries.  I expect not just 12 personnel, but some 13 personnel as well, with Johnny Wilson lined up at WR so they had essentially 4 TE sized people out there.  I was expecting them to just try to impose their will with the OL on the Bucs.   Instead they tried to get cute, with garbage and retreads at WR.   How did that work out?

A blind man should have seen it!

Team has so many issues and it all starts with a weak head coach. Sirianni is a puppet players know it and there’s 0 accountability on this team.

Slay who’s supposed to be a leader trashing other players. Hurts and Sirianni clearly not on the same page.

Who’s calling the plays in what situation?

Something needs to happen

Stoll was active.  So, they wouldn't have even been forced to use Calcaterra for blocking purposes.

This is last year's offense. Nick has to let go.
