Brewers manager has been awful this series with decisions. Game 1 he cost his team removing peralta on 68 pitches after he retired the last 9 guys. Then leaving Williams in after the 3 run homer was ridiculously dumb. He was cooked. Gotta keep it at 1 run.

Get ready for some Rob Thomson magic; I worry about him as much or more than any player going 1-for-20 in a series.  His boneheaded decisions last year made Sirianni look like Copernicus in comparison.

Both of these QBs are the difference in the game tonight compared to what we saw on Sunday.  Tampa’s defense isn’t good. Atlanta’s defense is as bad/possibly worse than the Eagles. But they both have QBs that sling it, make competent decisions, and actually throw accurate passes to receivers before they’ve created separation.  Hurts couldn’t make that pass to Hodges in the end zone into tight coverage like that in his wildest dreams, nor could he have completed it in 2022.  Watching this game actually makes me wanna puke, because I’m jealous of the QB play from Kirk Cousins and Baker Mayfield. 🤮🤮🤮

Atlanta has some players on that defense. 3 out of 4 secondary starters are really good players. Terrell, Jessie Bates, and Simmons. Even Clark Phillips at nickel is pretty nice too. Judon is a solid pass rusher, they also have grady jarrett. Kaden Ellis was a really nice signing for them last offseason.  I think Orohorho, and Bertrand are nice defensive draft picks for them from this draft.  I think they could really use a CB2.

And yeah, both of these QBs are better than Hurts. Cousins even off his torn achilles being completely immobile, and Baker Mayfield who was long thought of as a bust. Far better.

Apples & Oranges - for every questionable decision Thomson has made he’s likely made a half dozen or more good decisions throughout the season, etc - He’s been very good this season.

Mooney, like Dotson is not a bad player. Mooney spend some years after his excellent rookie season, without a QB. Hes been very solid for Atlanta this year. Dotson, has also not had a QB. I dislike the criticism of the player, and placing the onus on HIM to step up last week with the "opportunity". There was no opportunity. Hurts was still the QB in that game.

We could have had  Mooney as a cheap free agent signing this year rather than having to trade for Dotson. But, Mooney would still be looking like a bust then.

Another bye week musing:

Week 1 the Barkley/Shipley package was effective in each of its 4 plays, and looked refreshing and creative. Capable of creating mismatches, and scheming guys open (remember the beautiful pass to a wide open Smith).

Has that completely disappeared since week 1? I cant recall seeing it again.

Evans is so likable unlike 75% of our team

This game actually makes me feel a little better about our defense. The falcons actually have a good defense, and the Bucs are still making it look just as easy as they did against us.

The eagles have significantly underperformed on expectations so far.

But is there a world where these teams that have beat them (ATL and TB) are actually pretty darn good? And the eagles are not as bad as we think they are right now?

Youd like a truly good team to win these tough games and we are 0-2 but I wonder if at the end of the year these are looked at as 2 of the better NFC teams and maaaaybe the eagles arent quite as bad as we think they are right now.

I haven’t seen a single play like that replicated since that game. I honestly like Shipley and think he should be RB2 and used in more situations exactly like that

They’ve given up over 20 every game but the Steelers game. Doesn’t seem that good tbh

Yeah something about this game is giving me yet another glimmer of hope. Still, the eagles should demolish these teams and they lost instead. Its still very disappointing where this team is at right now.

But, its possible they arent quite as bad as we think.

Likely they are going to implode like last year. But... maybe... just maybe they arent as bad as we think and they actually begin to turn a corner.

That mostly hinges on Hurts play which I dont count on improving though.

I don’t get why there hasn’t been a single turnover all game. What is this?

I agree. Another thing that calms me down is its early, we have new players at important positions, and we have a new OC and DC. We have flashed exciting potential at times, while also showing the same head scratching mistakes as last year. Hopefully as the season progresses, they are able to iron out the kinks and gel together

I could really use a score here from Bijan for fantasy. I despise Algier carries. That guy is like another Gainwell.

and there he is....

maybe next time.

Good game

Most worried about the offense. The numbers vs. he Mets look great but we really beat up on them early in the season when they weren’t good. in September in the 7 games we were largely not good with RISP outside of the second game in NY. Last 7 games vs he Mets in September we were 14-54 which is .259. However it really gets skewed cause second game in NY they were really good 6-17. The other 6 games they were 8-37 (.216). They can’t just rely on hitting homers to win this series  have to come up with big hits with RISP. Doesn’t help the Mets have multiple LHP so you are not going to get marsh who hits RHP very well and hays is hurt (frankly not been great since coming when he was healthy)

Also seeing what the Mets did against Williams and Iglesias (Braves), makes me uneasy with estevez who can be wild at times and hittable at times.

id be surprised if this series didn’t go 5. However we are 7-6 this year but walker started in 3 of the 6 losses. Then again they beat nola, wheeler and the game ranger started in the last series

18, 21, 22, and 24 to the Steelers, Eagles, Chiefs, and Saints. All teams with winning records minus the Eagles and Saints who are 2-2. Those scores are actually pretty good for today’s NFL and will definitely give their team a chance to win games.

bad drop. where the hell was that CB going? great route.

wow. that was risky

Stupid. But it worked somehow.

If your first play in overtime is a carry for Algier, youre not even trying to win.

Cousins lighting up this Bucs defense. We struggled to get a 1st down.

they won in spite of the Algier carry.
