Lol this has been a bit much to read for pages. You guys are acting like he's a bottom 5 QB

No, but in 2023 he was a 12-15 ranked QB based on his overall play.  This season, so far, he's 11th in passing yards, T18th in passing TDs, 16th in completion %, T5th most interceptions, bottom quarter in INT %, and 22nd in QB rating.

These are all big problems when his contract is $255M with $180M in guaranteed money.  It's hard to overstate that.

Give me Cam Ward. He might end up being a bust, but at least he won't get scared in the pocket 😂

What's the sample size though? 5 passes in 5 years?

The overwhelming majority of his passes are to the outside. There's a reason for that.

One of the biggest is because he wets his pants and runs to the right constantly.

Hyperbole aside, yes. We have evidence he doesn't throw a ton there but we also have evidence when he does he's good at it. We've seen no evidence he's unable to do it.

That play doesn't live in my memory as a great play, because ultimately, they went on to lose that game.   Major damper on the excitement in remembering that hit.

No one thinks he's a bottom 5 QB, but the guy stinks.

He has more offensive talent than arguably anyone in the league and turns it over 30 times a season.

Cousins just threw 500+ on the same Bucs defense that held us to 0 yards for half of the game with the vaunted receiving group of London, Mooney and Hodge.

Before you or anyone says it, I know we were missing pieces. He still had plenty of talent on the field and does most games in general.

I'd complain more about the gameplan vs the Bucs

What starting QB doesn't have a mega contract?

Hurts is still paid in the top quarter of NFL QB salaries for guaranteed money, total value, etc.  The way Howie backloaded the deal makes it look more palatable right now, but the Eagles are married to Hurts for at least two more years -- maybe three.

The worst thing for any team's salary cap is for the highest paid players to play at less than average production.

With 20/20 - they didn’t necessarily have to extend him when they did.

I'd draw the line right about there...

Why there? Are you going by avg/year?

Total guaranteed money since that seems to be the biggest number that players and organizations fight over and is the dollar amount amount representative of the commitment made to a player.

Just a gut feeling - with the return of AJ Brown and Smitty - this team should look amazing after the bye.

And the defense knows what it needs to do - which is wake the F up.

I asked because Carr's contract in total guaranteed is higher than your line

Everyone handled last night's game well I see.

Kirk Cousins throwing for 500 yards in prime time will shake a mans faith in the football gods.

It was my best guess. It's not an exact science.

I agree that the game plan was hot garbage.

Having said that, he was horrendous. His throws weren't in the same zip code. He missed Barkley for a walk in TD. He had another game with 2 turnovers (almost a pick six as well) and one of them was a momentum killer.

I expect the offense will look better when the big 3 gets back, but he has been a joke for the large part of the last 25? games or so.

So far Cleveland has put up 17, 18, 15, and 16 in the first 4 weeks.  Eagles should be able to hold them under 20 points at home.

Eagles should also be able to score 20 first-half points at home next week.  We'll see how they do.

Unable and unwilling are the same phenotype

Trade squirts to Raiders, start McKee and draft Milroe. Let’s go fill circle.

So by this metric our defense in week 2 was good?

I would like to see what our offense would look like (when fully healthy) for one game with McKee starting

That's why I say take the choice out of his hands. If the offense runs a ton of plays with route combinations that are over the middle. Drags, crossers, slants, etc, then he'll have no choice. What is he going to do just not throw the ball? They can't know it doesn't work if they don't do it. We know the offense they're currently running isn't working. At least not to the level everyone expected. What's the downside to trying? It doesn't work.... which is what the currently offense is doing anyway.

I'm not convinced there isn't something else at play here.

They killed the Eagles on that play earlier in the year IIRC

Other than the last drive?  Of course.  Unfortunately a bad offense kept them in the game where we should have been up 17 points already.
