If we lose to the Browns you need to fire Sirianni

If his job relied on simply beating the browns then we should’ve just fired him during the bye week and the transition of having two weeks would’ve been better.

Jim Schwartz' defense is not the Fangio style.

I hated Schwartz defense. Only good thing about it was the Dline IMO

Saleh getting fired will probably expedite Nick getting the boot if they get embarrassed by Cleveland this weekend. Especially if they have interest in Belichick, which I hope they don’t. But even a guy like Vrabel and some others who they would want to get the jump on before the Jets makes this game even more severe on Sunday.

I hope we don't get Belichick. Pats were winning because of Brady

No doubt Saleh's a genius on defense since he got 10 sacks out of the wet rag AKA Bryce Huff

I think we're a long way from that yet.  The expectation for this year will be to win the division and at least one playoff game; if they fall short of those targets I'd be willing to bet Nick knows already what is to come after the season.  Nick and Howie seem pretty close and have likely discussed it.

The Eagles aren't nearly as cutthroat as the Jets.

Nah - if they wanted to salvage the season and had some gumption they wouldn’t have let him back in Philly after getting obliterated by the Buccaneers for the 2nd time in 5 games.

We’ll waste another full season on the guy who makes zero adjustments and has a god awful theory about how football should be played.

Have we been spoiled?   The last 10-12 games the team has been dreadful to watch.

Spoiled?  The team constantly tells how they are the standard by which other teams are measured, they tell us how great they are.  They tell us that the are the cream of the crop of the league.  And what have we seen since 2010?   Mediocrity for the most part with 2 outlier seasons... 2017 they caught lightning in a bottle, only to regress to the mean.  2022 they almost caught it again, then immediately have regressed to the mean.

They seem to be an average, or slightly above average team that can get lucky, but aren't really much more than that.  They are a one or two games over 0.500 team, mostly because the league as a whole isn't very good, so they can feast on some bad teams.  In 2022, they really did feast on bad teams to get where they ended up, including the playoffs.  In retrospect, if Purdy AND Johnson don't get hurt, I do wonder how that game ends.  As the years go by, I have a harder and harder time convincing myself that the Eagles were actually the better team.   And yet, they were a hair's breadth from winning the Super Bowl despite all that... which really just shows the parity of the league.  The NFL got what it wanted and the Eagles are the quintessential example of that.   They are basically a mediocre team that can spike up and surprise us with a season when everything goes well, or injuries don't derail them.  But, they aren't head and shoulders above any team.   In 2017, they really were.  Their QB play elevated them above the rest of the league, first with Wentz, and then with Foles' hot streak.  But, that is what separates teams in the NFL.   Our QB play has been a bit erratic, and the record has followed.

I’m going to keep beating this dead horse…even in our SB year the team was incredibly inconsistent.  Couldn’t string together 4 quarters of solid play more often than not.  They caught lightening in a bottle that year, but ever since the start of that season the signs of what we see clearly now were always there.  2022 they couldn’t start games on O…were juggernauts in the 2nd quarter and then coasted in second half’s.

Hard to get excited about the eagles right now. Hurts and Siranni killed the mood

Reminds me of when Vick was here.  All he needed to do was learn how to slide and protect the ball.

Like Vick, Hurts helps us win games.  But at the same time, contributes to the losses.

Very frustrating.

When is the last time Hurts helped us win a game though?  When is the last time his play elevated the team?

Honestly, for quite a few years the entire sports world was saying he needs to be smart in protecting himself.  Ever since it seemed he took that criticism to heart…his play has plummeted to average at best.  Honestly just unleash him and if he gets hurt he gets hurt.

Ok.  Point being, Schwartz wasn't part of the Fangio tree.

I thought the only way that Siriani was gonna get fired during the bye week was if they went out and lost both of the last two games like they did in Tampa. To me, I think he gets a longer rope than what fans want. I think he’s here until they get eliminated from the playoffs. If they make the playoffs, he’s gonna be here until after their playoff run however, short or long it is. The longer it is it probably saves his job. If it’s short then he is out probably at the end of the year.

I’m fine with Hurts. Clearly there’s a massive gap in culture and what the identity of the team is. Hurts makes some awful decisions. However, there’s no continuity or consistency on offense in terms of what their goals are.

Having a defense that prefers the other team manage and control the clock and doesn’t take the ball away or create constant negative plays also has us constantly playing reactive and with meh field position.

When Hurts gets the ball out it’s usually accurate, his timing and decision making has been awful - but that’s something that’s be to be resolved I feel. Unlike anything Siriani offers

There is no such thing as an 'easy' win for this team.

There’s not, but if they can’t win this game convincingly, I think it’s over. Fire Siri and start looking at next year.

This game shouldn’t be close. We’re coming off a bye, at home against a QB who sucks and has given up on the year.

The Saints game. Like 2 games ago...I mean I get it's en vouge to hate on Hurts right now and he had a part in us being behind in that game, but he and Saquon also brought us back in that game and won it.

I'd say 70% Barkley, 20% Goedert, 10% Hurts.  Without that Barkley TD run I suspect the Eagles would have ended the game with 6 or 7 points.

Yes, but on that last drive, Hurts was the one that audibled to the play that got Goedert open and didn't miss him. Goedert just had to run at that point. I'd probably go 15 Goedert and 15 Hurts. Yes Barkley was the biggest part, but considering he was missing his other 2 targets, I was happy with Hurts overall that game.

He made some key runs against GB and NO, but he's has to do these things to make up for being a mid passer (at best).  After a couple weeks of increased motion and some capability against the blitz, it looks like he and the scheme have regressed back to his trend of regression.

Eh, we were moving the ball. If Sirianni weren't a moron, we kick at least 2 FGs instead of blowing it on 4th down. Hurts had an end zone pick where Smith should have crossed the safety's face, but Hurts still shouldn't have thrown it. And the play to Goedert was a check by Hurts.

Jalen hasn't played well, but he has done some good things. This CLE game is very telling because it's the 1st game where we will have our best offensive player since the GB game. If they have AJ, DeVonta and Lane and still look like crap, then we're cooked. I can't kill the offense for Tampa. The defense, on the other hand...

Yea. Credit for checking into the play but a 5 yard pass isn't that great. I'd actually give Dotson some of that percentage too for managing to correctly run a pick play. Eagles have been flagged for doing that wrong for years.

I don't disagree with any of that.   But, I don't think that Sirianni gets fired even if they get blown out by the Browns.

This isn't a good 'team'.  There is good talent on the roster, but they aren't even close to a cohesive unit or what I would call a 'team'.   Maybe that started to change over the bye.  Or maybe having Brown back will just mask the issues again.
