I think Fangio gets that credit

Well either way, the LB situation would be a lot worse without Baun. But yeah, White was just too big of a liability in coverage and Fangio doesn't send his ILBs enough to take advantage of the one thing White was actually good at. Dice it up between Fangio and Roseman, I'm just happy Baun panned out and we have a functional LB for once.

How did they get impatient? They tried a top 5 pick in Wilson and that didn't pan out so they went the other route.

Saleh had a winning percentage of 35.7%. Dude stunk as a HC

Yup.  A good DC but terrible HC.  It's why I'm hesitating them putting Kellen Moore as HC if Nick is let go.  He might suck too.

I hope we don't get Belichick. Pats were winning because of Brady

At least 3 of those SB's were because of defense.

Not taking anything from Brady but Belichick helped them win as well.

Kind of a missed opportunity up to this point - given these LBs and the performance of our DEs, Vic should be blitzing.

Howie has made some puzzling moves as of late

This was in response to Spags.

His defenses have never been known for their aggressiveness. Even here, every time he's tried to send 5 or more, we got BBQ'ed on the back end for a big play. Not sure if that's an issue with timing, talent, or creativity, but it's just not working. Maybe things will turn around still, but a Brian Flores, he ain't.

Yeah before he would just make flat out terrible moves and picks but now they’re just more puzzling and mysterious

Raiders kinda sorta

They fired their OC, but cant remember when or how well they played afterwards.

edit: Ken Dorsey

Poor Rick Lovato. Wore 45 for 8 years as an Eagle. Gives it to Devin White and now he's cut and Lovato is stuck in 49.

Not likely to come loose - McDermott on the other hand.

I would be interested in getting McDermott back should that be an option

Devin White has some serious loser stink on him. I’m glad he’s gone. I just wish we never wasted the money or roster spot on him to begin with.

Sarcasm right?  Sometimes my meter is broken.

Very much sarcasm and probably should have quoted who I meant to respond to. Someone previously insinuated that the 3 redzone turnovers Hurts had were not really his fault.

Just waiting for Devin White to sign somewhere else and make an immediate impact.

Barnett 2.0

So, corresponding move, Sydney Brown active? Bring in another LB?

He’s a LB who gets his production by going after the QB and going. Downhill. The Anti-Fangio type player.

In other words, watch him go to a team who knows how to play him according to his strengths and he produces.

Here's the all-22 and end-zone angle. It's standard cover-4 / quarters with CBs way off the LOS (even farther than I recalled). Not sure there is anything particularly aggressive about this play call, BG just dressed that RG in a clownsuit on his way to making the biggest defensive play in franchise history.

🤷‍♂️.  I was going by the interaction between Schwartz and Doug on the sideline before that series.   Either way, it worked out.   Ultimately, at the end of the day, players have to make plays.  Graham was in position to make a play, and boy did he get it done at the right time.   This was one of only 3 plays I'd say the defense made.

1 - Jenkins knocked out Cooks.

2 - McLeod took down Cooks on the end around where it was only him between Cooks and the goal line.

3 - Graham's strip sack.

You may be right.   But, personally, I always preferred Schwartz to the Fangio style.  For his warts, the D always seemed to be right near the top in points allowed.

There's not a single DC on this planet that can mask his deficiencies in coverage. So any "production" from him would have to compensate for him being a massive liability in the passing game.

White came in and acted like a star, not a 1 yr contract guy. Immediately creates an "accountability" group chat with Hurts/AJ, refuses to play STs after getting beaten out in TC.

I like the Jalen Mills-type delusional Eagles, not this loser. Good riddance.

Or, you put him in the game in obvious situations where he's rushing the passer or crashing downhill. Most likely, he doesn't do a damn thing but I wouldn't be surprised if he catches on somewhere and can contribute despite his flaws.

Smells of Ernie Sims.

Nah.   Cut your losses and move on.
