If the problem with the offense is Jalen Hurts limitations as per this boards brains trust consensus then it'd really really beg the question why he looked so much better with Steichen as OC calling plays by himself.

The last 2 QB's to take us to a Superbowl, were essentially dopes who had to run a simplified offense according to this board, maybe we should look at that simple stuff again huh?

Sadly, Carlton or Will dancing in a peacock outfit is more inspiring than Sirianni. Give me the Peacock Strut over Skinhead Sirianni any day of the week.

I watched Reub on one of those YouTube videos after the game.

Surprisingly made some good points.

What is the team?

What is their identity on offense?

All three phases haven't meshed in over two years.

Sirianni sticks his deek in Venus fly traps for fun.

Reub and Zangaro's podcast is pretty decent. Yea, he can still be a blowhard but they have good banter, have reasonable conversations and it isn't too gimmicky at all.

I went ahead and shot him an email.

Appreciate that. I don't look too deep in to guys taking a leave from posting but as many have said, the predictions was something he took very seriously. I would think he would have alerted us that he was taking a break from that. I could be wrong but either way, the outreach is the least we can do from a EMB standpoint.

Every play is verticals year 2

Verticals, Tush Push, RPO, WR screen with the occasional crossing route.

I don't think Lurie would fire Sirianni after a W, but after yesterday's ourburst I can see him firing him after a loss. Wouldn't be hard to picture Sirianni leaving if we lose to the Giants.

Jalen put up more passing yards on the Browns defense than any other QB this season.

But if the pre season went so well with Hurts looking sharp in a new offensive scheme with lots of motion, did you see anything against the Packers that suggested Moore had a new tricksy offense and we struggled to run it so we've reverted? All I've seen so far this season is exactly the same limited offense I saw last season, it's like the OC is rationing his playbook so people don't get tape on all his tricks first and then slowly the realisation creeps in that, no this is really all we got.

I don't believe that Brian Johnson and Kellen Moore have exactly the same offensive scheme and playbook, but given it looks almost exactly like the stuttering mess of Sirianni's first year, I can absolutely believe that Sirianni is still dictating to the OC what gets run on game day, and that's why ultimately Sirianni will get canned, because the guy just refuses to get out of his own way.

Yes we definitely see some new stuff in the packers game.

IMO yesterday it was scheme and play calling more than Hurts.

He didn't have any turnover worthy plays and his decision-making was better.  But the first quarter was an abomination and there was nowhere to go with the ball.

The OL got manhandled most of the game, too, which didn't help.

Sirianni f'ed up the clock management and Saquon decided to be Quez Watkins before half which led to that blocked FG touchdown.  Without that, the game probably turns into a blowout, but that kept the Browns interested

Hurts is the problem with the scheme. Saquon Barkley has had most of his success when taking the ball from under Center formations. This is what drove success in New York for him. However Hurts does not like to use under Center formation which is what Moore's scheme is mostly based upon. Hurts has a lot of limitations that's killing this team overall.

He can't read defense pre or postsnap. He's not good at reading progressions. This makes him hold on to the ball longer and most of the time break out of a clean pocket when he didn't need to. He won't throw in the middle of the field because he's worried about throwing an interception. Which in turn he also won't throw to players that have one step on the receiver, they need to be 100% wide open . The only player he trusts to make that throw is Brown. We can all see he can't run like he used to which was his biggest strength and made him the weapon he was.

The player he was in 2022 is gone. Now his limitations are sticking out like a sore thumb.

It got figured out. Teams figured out a way to make is read on the RPO a little tougher.

He's also not nearly a effective as a runner as he was back then

Also sacked the fewest times and punted the fewest times

On their third starting safety and ward gone while having an all pro and pro bowl receiver....nice.....

One of the best players on the team, who's also a leader, also agrees the offense has been crap.

What does he know?

Incoming push ups in the driveway.

Cowboys, Giants, Raiders and Redskins all had a great WR

With Ward out the game early and their safety room on life support?  Also, none of them are AJ and had Smitty on the other side taking attention away. You are smarter than this i hope

The Eagles have the seventh-ranked offense in the league despite Brown, Goedert, Johnson, Smith and Goedert all missing time.

But tell me again how Hurts is the issue.

Barkley directly cost us 1 game, could have cost us the game yesterday and had a crucial mistake in the Saints game. He cleans up his act and Brown stays healthy the offense is fine.

The defense? That's another story.

We've scored 51 points in 3 weeks combined.  I guess if you want to use yards we are a top 10 offense... but as a scoring team...Screenshot_20241014_084538_Chrome.thumb.jpg.552ef1de9f076417b785098dc171d90c.jpg

Disagree.  We saw a lot of new stuff in Week 1.

He said that 95% of the offense was new in the summer.  My guess is that Hurts doesn't feel comfortable doing the new stuff.

You really think that Sirianni is taking the new stuff out of game plans?

Yep.  It’s getting to the point that even long-time Hurts backers (myself included) are beginning to see that maybe it’s him holding the team back.

How can he say this, doesn't he know how great they played?!  They beat the Browns.  Lane is just a hater.

Hurts can't read progression well that has been his weakness.  Couple of seasons before, he could just take off when he saw no open WR.  That made him a rushing threat.  But then, the coaches want him to develop as a passing QB staying the pocket.  He does not have the freedom to rush as he did before.  At the same time, his read on progression is still under development.  Brown is the WR he trusts to throw to and would allow time for Brown to run his route and get open.  Having Barrley as RB helps,  but not enough if Hurts still not able to read the developing plays out there.

55 snaps for Nakobe Dean. He can't be on the field for 96% of the snaps. He's one of, if not the biggest liability on defense and he's playing the 2nd most snaps.

21 snaps for Jordan Davis. Sorry, I know his role isn't the same as the other DT on the team but my goodness, they traded 4 picks to move up for him with Kyle Hamilton sitting there. Absolute miss of a draft pick. He's not getting a 2nd contract here. Move on and get value while you can.

39 snaps for Stoll, 22 for Dotson. TE2 getting nearly twice as many snaps as WR3. Why trade a 3rd round pick for a guy who's getting 1/2 the playing time of a guy who was a PS call up earlier this year? I know that formations dictate a lot of that, but if you're going to run formations that keep WR3 off the field, another terrible investment.

They also don’t have a lot of choice! They cut White and don’t have much depth. It’s pretty much Nakobe or bust. And that’s a huge issue!
