Brees is a hall of famer and a top 20 all-time QB. Jalen is not.

Mahomes is a hall of famer and people were comparing his slow start to Hurts for weeks. I say fair game 🤷‍♂️

:roll:that's also from the QB that was seriously questioned about his work ethic

Meanwhile Hurts is praised for his work ethic and you get

Jalen Hurts

Are there times where the offense is designed for a middle of the field throw and he's not making it? I think part of it is that they seem to target WRs on comebacks, gos and slants mostly.  Rb throws tend to be outside vs. middle throws as well.

It's the coaching -- they come out hunting big plays.

Gee what a surprise.  You could be diagnosed with AIDS and you'd probably have some sort of positive spin angle on it.

Some comedian from 35 years ago.

"My Dad is an eternal optimist.  I said wow did you hear about that serial killer down the street where they found all the bodies buried in the basement of his house?  He paused and said 'well at least he owns his own home and cleans up after himself.'"

So people think Nick is still designing the plays and Moore is the one calling them. I thought that was verified to be incorrect?

It is incorrect.  Please folks — NEVER quote anything Thomas Mott ever says.  If you listened to his YouTube videos, you’d understand.

Thanks for the update Dr. Dickwart.  I didn't say HIV.  I said full blown AIDS!!

That has worked out well when it has been really tried. Running first doesn't seem to be what Jeffrey, Howie et. al. seem to desire though. I buy into the view that Sirianni is going to do his best to implement what Jeffrey and Howie want, perhaps not what Sirianni would prefer.

Eventhough they have one of the best WR groups in the NFL their identity needs to be running the ball and being physical and then use the pass game off that.  Control the clock.  I said the same last year.

Crazy as it sounds with such great WRs but I feel our pass game is limited by our QB.

They're built for it though. Call it the execution or design of the play but they have the talent to air out the ball

Though they should get the offense doing the basics correctly before always gunning for those big plays. It's been an annoying start of the season

Don’t like nit-picking previous drafts too much because every team can do it, but there’s an alternate reality where we take Branch at 30 last year instead of Nolan Smith and the secondary moving forward includes Mitchell, DeJean, and Branch 😔

I prefer Captain Dickwart.

If it ain’t there, don’t throw it.  The QB has the ability to throw to any target out there running a route.

That's my point -- most coaching staffs come out and try and get their guys into a groove with easy throws and runs. Let the offense establish a rhythm. Get a first down or two, and then start looking to be explosive. We do the exact opposite -- come out bombs away, go 3 and out, and let an inferior team hang around.

Can't throw a check down if there isn't a checkdown.

Not only is it poor coaching from the standpoint of bad play calling, it's predictable and the definition of insanity.

The DL will look a lot better against depleted O-lines down to third stringers. That's all we really have to go off now as they only looked passable against the Saints and Browns.

Oh, I'm in agreement there, but the best thing for a DL is to get a lead and play with it.

They're not going to be elite suddenly, but it's going to help.

That Aidan Hutchinson injury was brutal to watch.

This has been a steady problem since at least the middle of last season.  They went 4 consecutive games last year, starting with the wins over KC and BUF scoring 6, 6, 7, and 7 points in the first half of games.  The coordinator is different now; Brian Johnson is not here now.  Kellen Moore is the OC now, and still the QB struggles mightily to start almost every game on time.

The knock on Moore in DAL was that he gets too pass-happy.  Unfortunately the Eagles don’t have a QB they can afford to get pass-happy with.  Give credit to Hurts, after a woeful 2-for-9 start he went 14-for-16 the rest of the game.  As I said last night, though, his poor performance for the first 15-20 minutes allowed CLE to stay in the game for the entire 60 minutes.

If folks want to lament the Eagles not getting a blowout win yesterday, #1 was the #1 reason.

Do you think Moore wanted Hurts to throw deep balls to Brown on second and medium on both of the first two possessions?

Or is it possible that Hurts changed the play at the LOS (like he did at the end of the game)?

On the subject of head coaches, there will be many openings this offseason.

Jets, Bengals, Browns, Jags, Eagles, Cowboys, Giants, New Orleans, possibly Arizona and possibly LA Rams if McVay retires.

You can't tell me Belichick won't get one of those jobs.

Hurts is part of the issue but it's more about preparation and design.

I honestly don't know, but it has to stop.

- So I guess Michael Clay sucks again. In all seriousness, in the last 12 months we have lost 3 special teams standouts (Ellis, Jobe and Johnson). I wonder if we are paying the price.

I get ragged on for complaining about the bottom of the roster moves, but those guys often are the ones who make up your core ST. They didn't lose those players, they cut them. In their place they have guys like Albert O (never dressed), Parris Campbell, didn't dress, Shaq Leonard AARP.

The bottom of the roster moves 100% matter. Patrick Johnson flashed for the Giants last night but the Eagles decided they don't need him. It's not recent but Casey Toohill is a productive DE in the NFL.

The Eagles seem to think those last 1-2 roster spots can be used to redshirt guys. It doesn't make sense.

I am thankful that it wasn't at his knee.  It is being called just a tibia fracture but I don't see how it couldn't have involved his fibula.  Assuming there's no nerve damage or shortening, I do think he will get back to playing close to the same level.

The blocked FG returned was the biggest difference in the game.

Instead of being 13-3 it's 10-10 and it gave them some momentum and confidence.

He was having a hell of a year too and on his way to DPOY. It really sucks to see, he seems like a great guy.

I just want to make it known I'm here for his mother and sister if they need comfort in these hard times.
