I don't think the contingent compensation transfers to a new team like that, does it?

Josina put out some word salad a week or two ago that indicated if the Jets were to trade Reddick to certain teams, the pick automatically becomes a 2nd even if the conditions aren't met. She's the only one that said anything about it so who knows if it's true or if she just used too much ChatGPT to draft her tweet. IF it's true I'm guessing it's something like Cowboys or a division rival.

Would think it depends on the language in the trade agreements. Doesn't matter as there's no chance of him hitting the milestones at this point anyway.

He wasn't going to sign a prove it deal anyway. He's wanted the long term deal for awhile now

Yeah but we traded him to the Jets as a guy who wanted a new big deal and he hadn't held out for 3 months arguing with his new teams front office about whether he told them he was willing to play out his deal or not. At this point it's a question of where his stock is?

Jets had no deal in place with him. Trading for a guy knowing he wants a long term deal was a Jets thing to do lol

Wilson gets BUF next week, DET the following week.  This time last year Desai held the Rams to 14 and MIA 17, he had his moments.

We never ranked anywhere near the top defense in those categories under Desai.

Makes sense

3rd for Dotson 🤦🏻‍♂️

That's an interesting condition. So I suspect he'll get traded to an AFC team

Interesting, that's a new one.

lol Raiders suck at negotiating

Apparently it's a separate clause from the one about contingent playing time or performance. I guess it just says if he's traded to an NFC team, the conditional pick automatically escalates to a 2nd rounder. First I've heard of something like that. Reminds me of the old poison pill tricks teams used to pull prior to the new CBA terms squashing them.

Wow, that's peanuts for a player like him.

I gotta wonder if Howie knew Jets weren't going to give him a long term deal and put this in to cover all bases. Solid work if he did.

His salary is also in a different stratosphere.  If Dotson were being targeted and used more, the compensation wouldn't look so bad.

Seriously, as much as we complain about Lurie and Howie at times, imagine dealing with this.

I love it that local media is holding his feet to the fire...he needs to feel that pressure. Will it change his approach, doubtful, but at least hold him accountable. Sell the team Jerry.

He should. Hopefully he suffers a season ending injury and we won’t ever have to see him in an eagles uniform again

Conditional 4th that can become a 2nd

How is he going to pack up the Taco Bell he has in his home and fit it into his NYC apartment?

The Jets already have a good receiver room, I don't understand this move.

Green Bay Packers - Happy little touchdowns. 🤗 A masterpiece for Aaron Rodgers. 🖌️🎨 #GoPackGo | Facebook

Their WR's are kinda meh. Garret Wilson is a stud but he could use someone like Adams to take the pressure off. Lazard is ok but not really a strong #2. Mike Williams is always hurt.

Ultimately, it's Rodgers but it makes some sense too. Kinda just late to do it now.

IF all of this works and Jets were to make it to the SB... can they pay for all of these moves? Will there be a fire sale if they were to make it to the SB?

It's easily understood.  The Jets are moving in the wrong direction with every move they make to indulge Aaron Rodgers, and their owner had this discussion with Joe Douglas after last night's loss:

I've only watched a few of their games but drops have been an issue

That's a dumb way to look at it when the context is limited to the defensive coordinator, but okay.
