Isn't that what they traded to get Reddick? A 3rd with a condition to make it a 2nd?

Assuming this is their 2025 pick, not 2026.

Wow, that's peanuts for a player like him.

His contract is not peanuts.   I think that's why.

I gotta wonder if Howie knew Jets weren't going to give him a long term deal and put this in to cover all bases. Solid work if he did.

I think its a matter of covering the bases since he didn't have a deal in place with the Jets as part of the trade deal, so he had to cover the contingencies.    Howie is a lot of things that I don't always like... but he is never one to skip over contract details... and that extends to the 'contract' of a trade.

True, I'm not sure how big it is but probably prohibitive enough to exclude quite a few teams.

His salary is also in a different stratosphere.  If Dotson were being targeted and used more, the compensation wouldn't look so bad.

Yup.   When looking at trade compensation, you have to look at the whole package.   Dotson is under team control with a 'reasonable' salary for 2 years, plus a 5th year option.   On the other hand, Adams carries a massive contract for 2025 ($35.6M) and 2026 ($35.6M).   I think the Jets would have to renegotiate that in order to keep him beyond 2024.

So Nick was just covering his guy

Maybe just maybe the coordinators aren't doing great and Nick is taking the blame?

The Jets already have a good receiver room, I don't understand this move.

Rodgers wants what Rodgers wants.  And apparently, Rodgers gets what Rodgers wants.  Inmates (or at least one) are running the asylum on Long Island.

I must have missed the year.   Thanks.

Worked for Brady and I think Peyton

All coordinators will make an occasional bad call.  (Sometimes not even a bad call based on tendencies.)

Nick really doesn't need to cover for them.

$35.6M for each year in 2025 and 2026.

Brady also took less money ON THE BOOKS to facilitate moves.    Peyton only got one championship in Indy, then got one in Denver where he didn't really call the shots as much.   Rodgers hasn't been at the level to have this much leverage in recent years... but the Jets are letting him dictate anyway, because if they don't, they are screwed.   Which basically means, they are screwed either way.

Huge difference maker for the Jets.  This should put them in contention.

Decent receiver room but not a bonafide true #1 like Adams.

This should make them a playoff team, imo

The Saquon-whiff, Jalen sack was a QB audible rather than a Nick call.  A risky play at the edge of FG range, but essentially the same idea as how the game was ended.

That’s more than likely what is happening on individual play calls but I doubt it’s happening on 4th down situations (whether to go for it or not, etc)

Aside from the trash talking situation, I figured that Nick was relatively hands-off Sunday - I mean he did the shove at every opportunity, but that isn't surprising.

Gotta win the division this year, or the Eagles will be watching football in late January.

How's that dagger in your heart feel Phillies fans? I know the players are the ones who have to pitch and hit but I don't think he earned this one.
