All coordinators will make an occasional bad call.  (Sometimes not even a bad call based on tendencies.)

Nick really doesn't need to cover for them.

There's a part of me that thinks Nick is actively trying to make sure all the heat and vitriol is directed at him. That he sees his role as shielding the coaches and players and effectively being the wrestling heel for the media and fans.

Likely giving him too much credit, but it does make sense.

The Saquon-whiff, Jalen sack was a QB audible rather than a Nick call.  A risky play at the edge of FG range, but essentially the same idea as how the game was ended.

I'm thinking the plan was try and hit a big play on 3rd down, and go to the brotherly shove on 4th down if it was incomplete. Instead, we got blown up with the sack.

Not a terrible plan, but brutal execution.

Same thing Andy did back in the day, but he was so affable, that he still came off as likeable whereas Nick is actively annoying the fanbase at this point.

Gotta win the division this year, or the Eagles will be watching football in late January.

Commies may end up getting it

I'm starting to think that as well. Though that contradicts his whole accountability motto IMO

Huge difference maker for the Jets.  This should put them in contention.

I don't know, I mean it's possible. I just don't see it moving the needle enough. Time will tell.

Okay, now Howie is just showing off

Yup, details - I tend to think that if Saquon was moved over, JOK doesn't get home... then 50/50 time.

He might as well.  People think he still calls plays anyway.

His full salary for this year has already been guaranteed though, no? I assume the Jets will now be on the hook for the balance of that?

This year, yes. Jets have to pay him $11M for the remainder of the year. Part of why the trade comp is low is because the Raiders are cheap and didn't want to take on any additional salary.

But for the next years, something will happen. He'll either be an expensive rental or negotiate a new deal.

Oh, then yea $11M isn't bad at all. Not sure if there are any other guaratnees like roster bonuses but if not then it's basically a flier in the hopes that he's still a decent WR (which he is by all accounts) and that he'd be willing to restructure his deal into something much more favorable to the jets (maybe a bit riskier but still likely.)

Best Eagles CB since Asante.

How much did you complain about the defense on Sunday to make sure you absolved Hurts of any blame at all?

Why would Hurts get blame?  He was lights out after the 0/5 start.

"Lights out."    The offense is "constipated" as Lane Johnson put it correctly, and it's because Kellen Moore is hamstrung by Hurt's inability to play the QB position at even an above average level.

So I came across the JJ radio interview for this week, he does one every week. I used to listen regularly to this station while driving into the office for years, but I work from home now and don’t listen to the radio at all.
By reading the exchange via X I expected it to be a very fiery upsetting kind of response from JJ. It really wasn’t though…Here is a link for those interested…Skip to 14:30, that’s where it gets interesting.

Hurts:  "When you take a deuce, you don't just sit there and look at it.  You flush it and move on."

Berman: "But Jalen, I asked how you spent your time off during the bye week."

We need more play action. Qb under center. Rb screens. Open it up. Change it up!

So Nick was just covering his guy

Maybe just maybe the coordinators aren't doing great and Nick is taking the blame?

So kellen Moore was fine until he came here? His offenses were not this bad in Dallas and LA
