According to statmuse Hurts is tied 2nd with the most fumbles

The fumbles are the killer. I don't mind the ints so much if they are offset with amazing TDs. But the fumbles man smh. You gotta protect that rock. It was a fumble that cost the Eagles a Superbowl smh. Fumbles are what stopped Michael Vick from being absolutely ridiculous. Related to extending plays and poor pocket awareness.

Kelly Green during a 4:00 game. I'm on board with that!

The internet is so vast. This has gotta rank in the bottom 1% of things that can entertain someone who's bored.

False dichotomy. You can use your legs to extend the play and still throw it away if you can't find anyone open. They aren't mutually exclusive.

Eh, players are human.  Your argument also just dismisses the Giants pass rush, as if they aren't leading the league in sacks. I guess all those other sacks they got were simply the QB's fault too?

I'd argue it was the defense giving up 2 TD's on blown coverages, plus a crap field, but I guess that lone fumble could be the reason.

but i agree on the fumbles. turnovers are a killer. I'll take a sack where Hurts gives himself up due to pressure, instead of trying to do too much in some scenarios and turning it over.

Burns doesn't touch him, Hurts gives himself up. And if he steps up and inside of Lane, he can break the pocket to the right to throw it away. This and the first screenshot I posted are sacks he could have reasonably avoided. The other 2 were ones where he didn't exactly have any options on from what I could tell but I haven't seen good angles of them yet either.

Uh, I just posted the end zone angle video of the play. He had a lane but instead gave himself up, literally without anyone laying a finger on him.

➡️↘️⤵️🔄 I think this covers his pocket movement, he did have the scramble later where he ran with nice urgency. Taking 5 sacks is a lot given the elusiveness he’s supposed to have on tap.

Week to week...oof. I know it helps us, but sucks for Daniels. He has been balling.

EDIT: More context. Based on this, I'd be surprised if he played this week. Can't imagine they rush him back.

Wonder if they'll have him wear a vest like we did for Vick

I suspect they'll tell him to start sliding feet first and protect himself in the pocket

To be fair, Hurts has had a number of sacks this season where he's held onto it too long, but the only sack from yesterday that fits that is the scramble where he could've thrown it away.  There were 2 where I think he was fine to give himself up.

I was not accepting the performance of Davis.  I was addressing the argument that trading draft capital needs to be part of the argument.

They scouted and spend draft capital on Davis.  The scouting error was far beyond the relatively small amount draft capital they used to move up.  If he wasn't a good idea at #13, he wouldn't be worth #15.

Frankly, he wouldn't be worth #32.

He should retire. Dolphins shouldn't let him back. Find some loophole in the contract. If he wants to risk his life then allow him to do it with some other team

BAL famously took Kyle Hamilton after we took JD, but they were also able to get Travis Jones in the 3rd and make him a solid NT.

Perhaps BAL would’ve gotten more out JD, a case where their scheme/coaching raises the floor for these prospects.

"If he could catch, he'd be playing offense."  ;)

But, the lack of turnovers created by this defense is crazy.  It's like they are allergic to it.

Regression to the mean for the playoffs would work though. They have to start catching them eventually.

Hmmm… everybody wears the guardian cap and I get real kickoffs and onside kicks again.

Idk why, but for some reason the baseball team came to my mind first and I was very confused why Tua would wear their hat.

At the very least he should be shut down for this season and be reevaluated next July when training camp starts.  I don't think he's going to get past these concussions unless he/they treat it as a long term recovery from injury.

To the guys in here who know O-line play, is Steen actually a better RG than Becton? Definitely feels like we don't miss anything with Steen in there.

If Becton weren't in concussion protocol, I'd want to at least think about moving him to LT and putting Steen at RG.

Becton was a disaser at LT last year with the Jets.  I'd leave things as they are.  If Johnson can't cut it at LT I'd just as soon move Steen there as that is where he played four years in college.

I wish Hurts had Wilson's pocket presence. Wilson was elite at feeling the rush and immediately stepping forward (not backwards) and finding space to set himself to make the throw. The instant Hurts feels pressure -- some of which is imagined -- he starts backpedaling and rolling to his right. Nine times out of ten, the play gets shut down when that happens. I consider it to be Hurts' biggest issue. And I'm generally pro-Hurts. He does a lot of good things, but maintaining discipline in the pocket is not one of them.

He has improved a bit this year and doesn’t just immediately flush back and to the right. Yes, he still does it on occasion but way way less often this year (so far).

I get that we're Eagles fans, but you would never know we won 28-3 yesterday by reading these comments.

The game plan worked, they made the run the main focus of the day. Oline looked great, Barkley looked great, the defense looked great vs a poor team but still looked great. There you go, some positive reaction.

Hurts still sucks though.

I was super against the contract but Barkley has been great. And honestly they could do more with him in the passing game
