Why are the rams throwing in the towel? 49ers are going to be beatable for most of the season,  if not all. Rams will get Kupp back,  and then Nacua and likely get in contention for the division.  Or a wildcard at least.

Wildcard is not in play for the Rams at 2-4. NFC North is too stacked, it'll be hard for a team from another division to get into the wildcard in the NFC and it won't go to a team that is already in the hole 2-4.

Who do you think Eagles realistically might actually make a run at via trade?

Trey Hendrickson

Maxx Crosby

A better backup TE who can block maybe?

Yeah the only trade that makes sense for the Eagles would be a pass rusher or maybe a better backup swing offensive tackle.

I honestly don't think they give a you know what about TE.

Kupp in Philly makes absolutely no sense.

Can Kupp play TE?  Asking for a friend.

Part of me wonders if the rams do deal Stafford if they’d think of darnold as a placeholder and go after Bryce young.

Do teams think of Bryce Young as a starter?

PSU fans in here. Thoughts on Fox Big Noon Saturday making the OSU game a Noon kickoff instead of night game?

Depending on what the Panthers want for him, I could totally see a team taking a chance and thinking they could fix them. Goff was bad when Jeff Fisher got fired. Sean McVay came in and made him competent. I’m guessing there is a head coach and organization that believes they can make them into a competent starter.

People really think he'd be better on a different team?

Absolutely.

Look at Geno Smith. Darnold. Goff. Mayfield. etc.  It wasn't that long ago people thought Goff was done, and that his career would die in Detroit.

I think Carolina flat out stinks as an organization.  Their fans were hype after Dalton had a good game and blamed everything on Bryce. Now that Dalton has stunk just as bad as Bryce has for 4 straight weeks, it's clear to everyone it's the organization that's the issue.

Goff was just a rookie and only played in 7 games with Fisher. Its not like Goff was a complete wreck for years with fisher and then got fixed. That being  said goff probably would of stayed bad with Fisher.

That should be a night game.  Crowd won't be as electric as if it was a night game i.e. advantage Ohio State

They're like a game 1/2 back and everyone in that division is shaky. I think they have a chance to win the division, but I think the seahawks will end up in 1st.  Seattle can't beat the 9ers for anything tho, so I could see them choking it away if SF somehow manages to keep things close.

tbf, I think he's just making the comparison of a young, highly drafted QB.  It makes sense cos some people were calling Goff a bust, but if they had any brains they would've seen that every QB (even Foles and Keenum) looked like trash with Fisher.

In fairness, the Carolina Panthers are more of a dumpster fire than the Rams were when Jeff Fisher got fired. Like that team is atrocious everywhere outside of like diontae johnson and Hubbard. And they fire their coaches nonstop and bad ownership. Heck they traded burns for a 2nd rounder and this is young’s 3rd HC in 1.5 years. I would like to see him in a better organization. Hypothetically, if he went to the Rams and Sean McVey, I think he would get more out of him than what you’re seeing in Carolina.

Just saying what quarterback has looked good in Carolina over the last three years? That organization is a dumpster fire. Andy Dalton was good for a game vs. LV year and then began reverting back yo what they looked like with young vs. commanders.

last 3 years baker mayfield, sam darnold both looked bad in Carolina. Both much better outside of Carolina. Not saying Bryce Young is going to be good, but I have to factor in the fact that their owner is an idiot and that organization is a dumpster fire around him. Young might just be a bust but that organization is set up for any Qb to fail due to the incompetence of their ownership and musical chairs at HC and lack of OL

Nothing about this is a hip drop tackle. He literally grabs him around the shoulders and then falls off without even wrapping him up.

A hip drop tackle doesn't matter where they grab them. It's really grabbing them from the side/behind, becoming dead weight and the defender rotating their hips. This was such a bang bang play I don't know if it fits the criteria to a T but it's close.

I don't think he becomes dead weight at all though. Smith literally falls off of him.

The All-22 is a better angle. He doesn't fall off him until well after he drops, rotates his hips and traps Godwins ankle.

It wouldn't matter what time of day it was played - PSU ain't beating OSU

I said back when they banned it that tackles from behind are the issue, not the hip drop. It's the same premise for horse collar.

Grabs the runner with both hands or wraps the runner with both arms and
Unweights himself by swiveling and dropping his hips and/or lower body, landing on and trapping the runner’s leg(s) at or below the knee

Looks like the impact made him lose balance and his legs went under. Doesn't look like it goes with the rule. There's no swivel to me

Since it's an injury though they'll fine him and pretend it's part of their player safety rule

What Smith did is exactly what the spirit of the rule is intended to prohibit; Smith contacts the ball carrier and immediately drops his weight down to the ground, trapping Godwin's leg and foot underneath him (deliberately or not).

Watching the game last night I was going to comment it's a dirty game between two dirty teams.  The Bucs took 2-3 gratuitous helmet-to-helmet shots at Lamar Jackson's head, which did not look accidental to me.  IMO, there should be fines announced to players from both teams for this game.
