Because he knows he is throwing to a spot pre snap. So no thinking. He still struggles when he has to read a defense

On the pre-snap read front, he got the ball out ahead of AJ on the TD pass. That’s good as he’s missed a few, and under thrown many this year which turns the play into a 50/50 and eliminates any YAC. Also, he executed a quick slant RPO which punishes LBs for creeping up against the run. I feel like I haven’t seen that in ages. Theses pre-snap reads are great for Jalen, but defenses often muddle the looks or know how to manipulate these reads so the 2022 hayday is likely over.

Seems like the offense and Hurts execute more efficiently out of the no huddle.  Would like to see more of that earlier in the game. I realize they cant do that all the time because it doesnt give our defense much time to rest but if they can get some early rhythm we might see a more efficient offense throughout thw game.

Commanders release 2021 first-rounder Jamin Davis.

I still can't believe they took him when Kadarius Toney was RIGHT there.

The chiefs WR strategy is strange. Since hill left they've never really had a top receiver yet still manage to win SBs. Kelce was obviously the main guy for a number of years but he's on the decline now

Same with RBs - when was the last time they had a rusher over 1000 yards?

That's the same thing that Reid did here.
WRs: Charles Johnson, Torrence Small, James Thrash, Todd Pinkston...
RBs: Darnell Autry, broken down Dorsey Levens, Correll Buckhalter

He seems very happy to have mediocrity at the skill positions and just trust his OL and QB to raise their level and trust his ability to scheme to carry the play.  It works in KC, because Mahomes is truly a 'tide raiser' and can elevate all around him.   McNabb was very good, but wasn't that guy, and couldn't raise their level enough to carry them the same way.

As a roster builder, Reid devalues the skill positions.   And when you have a transformative QB, aka, the best of his generation, you can get away with it.  When you have an above average to very good QB... you fall short in the end.

I think that's related to limiting the defense's ability to get as creative.  When an offense goes no huddle, the defense has to go more basic.  And, if you are going hurry up and not substituting, they can't change personnel, which keeps them even more predictable.

I could be wrong, but that's my understanding.

Hopkins to the Chiefs for a conditional 4th.

Decent move, I guess, but he's not nearly the player he once was.

Maybe now Ridley will wake the F up

Prediction: Cowboys make a trade for Travis Etienne Jr

Pumping up his trade value is the only way this makes sense: Pederson: Etienne is still RB1

The Dotson trade is getting progressively embarsssing.

Is that really true? Since 2019 he's spent a first and 3 seconds on Receivers and a 1st on a Tailback. It's not so much that he devalues the positions as he's Howie-esque at drafting in the bottom half of the first.

My immediate question with this graph is how the hell can the Colts O Line produce both the most and least clean pockets depending on the QB?

Nonsense.   Howie always wins trades.   He's undefeated.    Genard Avery, Golden Tate, Jahan Dotson...  these are Ring of Honor type players.

The way I read this chart three supposedly top teir QBs are the worst in this chart...not surprsing, but yeh, they are worth 25% of your teams cap space.
