He had a terrible offensive line in LA and never really fit McVay's system.  He can do everything Saquon can do, of course not as well as he can, but still very close in terms of skill set.

He looked like he was out of position, but a S’s job is read and react.  You can’t read and react on this field.  Hopefully after half time we see a bunch of bombs to Smith on double moves attacking the S.

FWIW Barkley only chatted with a medical guy. Never went in the tent and was on the sideline the whole time with his helmet on. It’s probably nothing.

Looked more like he wasn't fundamental enough, saw him late, then came in with a full head of steam and just whiffed. Want to point out his missed tackle percentage was pretty high last time he was here and he's getting started early.

Yep. That last play he had where he took the sack is all about situational awareness, and knowing you only have one timeout. The odds were you weren’t gonna beat that defender so bad that you were going to scramble for a big gain. You were likely only gonna get at most one or 2 yards. It wasn’t worth the potential one or 2 yards to burn the last timeout

They might just be cautious with him - terrible field conditions - no need to risk your star RB in week 1
