Of course they would beat the Rangers. how very Philadelphia of them. Too little too late. Ridiculous

Just lose out for a better pick and lottery chance at this point. Everything they do is ass backwards.

Off topic: Coyotes players have been told that the Coyotes will be moving to Salt Lake City next year.

Win Tuesday.  Pittsburgh, Washington, Detroit lose out. Flyers with 1 game left.  Everyone else with 2. They are hosed.

Do they have to lose in regulation? because redwings are about to go to overtime

I'm not sure. It's close but flyers only have about a 8% chance to make it

Ideally, they don't at this point

They are going to have a ton of empty seats.

If Pittsburgh wins tomorrow then the flyers are eliminated correct?

I still can't believe they still have a chance to make the playoffs.

I think they'll do better in Salt Lake City than Phoenix.

They have to get the Delta Center ready for hockey, though.

Nobody goes to Grizzly games. We'll see. They have nothing else going on.

Nobody went to Las Vegas Wranglers games, but the Golden Knights are the blueprint for hockey in the Sun Belt.

I think people will appreciate having a new team, going so long with just one team, and they will show up.

Salt Lake City would make a cool road trip to catch an away game.

It will for a while but we'll see after the novelty wears off. There isn't much to do so unless you ski or hike. Then it's worth it. The food isn't great either...esp the baked goods.

Philly must beat Washington in regulation, and the Wings and Penguins must lose their games in regulation. This gives the Flyers, Caps and Wings all 89 points, and the Penguins 88. The Wings are out due to the RW tiebreaker, and the Caps and Flyers go to a fifth tiebreaker:

  • Regulation wins: Tied 31-31 in this scenario

  • Regulation wins plus OT wins: Tied 35-35

  • Total wins: Tied 39-39

  • Head-to-head points: (they did not play an even number of games: with one or more of the other tied clubs, the first game played in the city that has the extra game shall not be included) Tied 2-2

  • Greater goal differential: Philly is ahead -25 to -38

Part of me wants them to just miss the playoffs and get a lottery pick. The other part of me thinks that getting playoff experience could be good for this group, even though it would probably mean losing in a gentleman's sweep to the Rangers.

That's actually not a lot to have to hope for, but my assumption is MTL will roll over for the Red Wings tonight and that will be it.

PIT missing as well would bring me happiness, so I can just see everything falling the Pens way tonight/tomorrow after everything fell against the Flyers last night.
