That new Russian kid looks tiny/small, to me. I know he's young, and can still grow his frame out. But he better have some serious speed and stick skills.

Just accept the fact you will not see a stanley cup by the flyers in your lifetime even if you were born yesterday

Briere, Giroux, and Konecny aren't the biggest of guys who've had successful NHL careers. Martin St. Louis back in the day wasn't a big guy either.  Being of a smaller stature isn't as big of deal like it was in the past, at least for offensive players. It's more of a speed game now. While I still think the Flyers are at least 5 years away from contending for a Cup (which is why the TK extension was stupid), I'm actually looking forward to seeing what this kid has.

Sorry said 5 years. You must have meant 5 decades

Good, fair points.

I definitely need to learn, and watch, more Hockey. I'm still relatively new to it.

Yeah it's a great game. To me, there's nothing like the Stanley cup playoffs. It's too bad that the Flyers were such a horribly run franchise over the past decade. The game is better when they are good.

Also, going back to your size comment, that still applies to d-man. For the most part, teams still want those guys to be bigger in stature, especially the top 2 lines.

I heard that on the radio today. Totally shocked. Just awful. It'll be interesting to see what the investigation unfolds. That's a big blow to the hockey world.

Him and his brother where killed while riding their bikes by a drunk driver in Salem County.

He was supposed to be in his sister's wedding in Philly tomorrow.

One of the worst things I’ve ever read. Their sister was getting married this weekend too. Can’t imagine what their family is going through. Hoping the NHL community comes through for them.

Best team in town :groovy:

Honestly I'm just hoping for a good development year.  If they make the playoffs, cool.  If not, hey, that's cool, too.

Though I'm getting ready for every moron to start yelling about how they should tank for a higher pick.
