We're working on an exit plan. Wife and I had a serious conversation about last night and our line in the sand is if he cancels elections or blatantly interferes with them.

That's one of my red lines. I was already looking into retiring abroad, but I might not be able to wait that long. Free elections and free press/media are the last 2 pillars. If they go, I go.

Working on all levels. Putting pressure on your Congressman, going to protests, contributing to Dem candidates (or anti MAGA in those cases where that is possible), being positive to any Trump person that wants to own up, etc. and yes, taking difficult discussions with people in your private life. Most of those will be uncomfortable and will fail but Trump is affected by polling and in a few months so will the GOP candidates in November. It all adds up and the effect is to slow Trump. Run the clock out with the country still holding on by a thread, secure Congress, and then have Congress do everything in their power to stop Trump.

A long shot but it is all that is available at this point. The alternatives are to throw in the white towel or turn to violence neither of which appeal to me but maybe those work better for you.

Like others have said, there is no silver bullet to reach these people. They are thoroughly indoctrinated. Find me a rational person who voted for Trump 3x that's willing to have an open mind and reconsider their thought process that led them to their choices. You won't, because they don't exist. There is no unicorn 3x Trump voter that has a line for Trump to cross that will flip their vote to a Dem candidate. The only way their vote will flip is when they feel the pain directly, and even then, they'll believe Trump when he finds a way to blame it on someone or something else. They're all mentally ill and irredeemable. I get what you're coming from because they're still our neighbors, friends, family members, etc, but the fact remains that there's just no coming back from what they've signed up for. It sucks, but it's true.

This "cult of Trump” is not reversible. The only real chance was after he lost the election in 2020 and after the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th.

I can sadly say this because some of my family in the US are diehard cult Trump supporters. 🤷‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

To put into perspective how bad this cult goes; when Fox News started to report facts about the election loss etc., people started to watch more extremer right wing media because they didn’t like Fox anymore. Claimed that Fox wasn’t reporting correctly on Trump anymore and weren’t truthful. That’s how screwed up their minds are! They only want to watch media if it supports their claim that Trump is a messiah. These people are brainwashed and it’s demoralizing to say this about your own family members and friends. The cult of Trump is destroying this country and what’s even worse, he’s taking the world down as well.

And there are many more out there and on this board, just like that looney greenskeeper and others. It’s the Trump virus and it has infected way too many…can’t get much darker than that.
