March 18Mar 18 I don't think there is any coincidence that the Trump WH decided to use this case to attempt to crush the judiciary. The optics of the videos from the prison in El Salvador and the full court press marketing from Trump are clear. Attacking the federal courts has been front and center in all the MAGA rhetoric in here and elsewhere on social media now for a couple of weeks. The temperature is on the way up now. The next salvo will surely come on Truth Social later tonight or maybe tomorrow.

Trump is immune from prosecution for any official acts or using the powers of the Presidency. And Trump can simply pardon anyone else. So the courts say you can't deport people without due process, or fire government workers without following the rules of their collectively bargained agreement. Trump says screw you, I'm doing it anyway. The GOP House won't impeach him, and he can't be prosecuted. If you try and prosecute his advisors or cabinet members, Trump can just pardon them. We no longer have any check on executive power.
