Wow, that's not too far outside Denver to the south. I've never heard of that, but it looks like Moab/Zion/Bryce with green around it. If you go north of Denver you'll hit RMNP and Estes Park/Grand Lake.

Went out there a few summers ago on an RV road trip. Stayed in Ft. Collins when we were in Colorado (after we had already hit Badlands, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Zion, and Bryce and a lot of other stuff, it was a 6 week road trip- Colorado was on the homeward stretch of the trip) and flew my granddaughter and her mom into Denver to stay with us for the week. Did both RMNP and Garden of the Gods from our home base in Ft. Collins. GotG was my 2nd favorite spot on the trip after Grand Teton (of course, my wife and I had been to RMNP and GotG many years before).

GTs are next level. I'll day hike there but won't backpack. Grizzlies don't play. I'm glad you had a good trip. I'll have to drive south on my next trip and check them out. Maybe I'll do it in April when the Phillies are in town.
