It’s always been bad, but with that crook Infantino as president, the corruption has risen to Trumpian heights…🤷♂️Yep they’ve always been corrupt and UEFA has been arguably worse. This one is uniquely stupid even for these idiots.
November 7Nov 7 Everyone mark your calendars. The big award will be given on Dec 5th as part of the World Cup draw. No doubt Trump will be there and will hype this thing the last couple weeks ahead of the event.

They basically run the damn show from the top and the continental organizations like UEFA only have so much input on a whole. Of course it’s all about money and the stupidity of creating more revenue by playing in countries that don’t give a crap about @Alpha_TATEr "soccer”, 😅 waters down the entire product.Let’s say FIFA corruption is Trumpian and UEFA is Bidenesque… wanna keep it neutral in here.🤣

It’s vice versa in the parts of the world where soccer is king.

Some of the reasons are due to the stakes (WC every 4 years vs annually) and also because it's an international competition compared to a national one. So in the more narrow perspective of whether the world cup is more popular than the NHL playoffs, the answer is yes if you base it strictly on ratings.

It’s been tried multiple times, but it’s just not going to be very popular on the professional level.

But I do think we are just a few TV contracts away from pulling in more interest and eyeballs for things like UCL and EPL games, and even better marketing around tournaments like Copa.

To be honest, no league will ever equal or surpass the European leagues. Those are basically the NFL of soccer. The best players play there and not much will change that. It’s integrated into the culture. There will be more interest in the US, but I don’t see it ever reaching anything close to basketball, baseball and surely not football. Hockey might be reachable, but that’s still a tall order IMO.

I dont see the good, young American athletes wanting to play soccer over basketball or football anytime soon though.

It was fairly close to 50/50 when I was growing up, but now it's like 4:1.

Outta here with that sheet.
