April 18Apr 18 Trumpbots will say she’s lying, but let’s face it everyone knows it’s exactly how he talks. He didn’t care that his own VP was almost killed. That’s why the "Trump is an altruistic good guy” narrative is so funny and so sad.BREAKING🚨 Marjorie Taylor Greene says when she texted Trump about death threats against her son, he blamed her and said if her son got killed, it was her fault. She called it "exactly who Donald Trump is."Let's give credit where it's due. Marjorie Taylor Greene spent years doing things for Donald Trump that most human beings with a functional shame response would not do. She screamed at colleagues in the hallways of Congress for him. She wore "Free Trump" shirts to impeachment hearings. She ran down the street after a young activist to yell at him on camera. She called people traitors and groomers and pedophile-sympathizers on Trump's behalf, day after day, in service of a man whose loyalty, as it turns out, operates on a very simple algorithm: what have you done for me in the last 48 hours? The short version of how their relationship ended: Greene pushed for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. Trump called her personally and asked her to remove her name from the petition, allegedly telling her "his friends would get hurt." She refused. Trump then branded her "Marjorie Traitor Greene" on Truth Social. She resigned from Congress. The threats started immediately. One of the threat emails that flooded her inbox had the subject line "Marjorie Traitor Greene" — his words, copy-pasted into a death threat. The message read: "Derek will have his life snuffed out soon. Better watch his back." Derek is her son. He is in college. She texted Trump. She sent him a copy of the email. She told him what was happening to her family.According to Greene, Trump's reply made no mention of her son at all. When she pressed him about the threats on her children, he blamed her. "He had no compassion for death threats on my children," she told Piers Morgan on Uncensored this week. "He blamed me basically that if my son were to get killed, it would be my fault."Morgan sat across from her and said: "Really?"She said: "Yes."He said: "Wow."Greene said she told Trump: "No one's children should ever be the victim of death threats or have any kind of political violence brought on them because of our politics, because of our disagreements." She said he showed "no compassion whatsoever." She said this was their last exchange. She said it was "like a nail in the coffin" and that it "tells me exactly who Donald Trump is."Then she said something that should stop every single person who has ever watched her defend him on television dead in their tracks."Some of my most significant political adversaries would never speak to me like that. Democrats with whom I've had conflicts in Congress would never have uttered such words to me. No one has ever said anything like that to me."The woman who spent years calling Democrats groomers and pedophile-apologists and radical communists is now telling the world that her Democratic colleagues would have shown more human decency in a crisis than the president of the United States. She is almost certainly right. The White House's response to all of this was to call Greene a "quitter" who is "desperately seeking relevance." Trump himself, after Greene's 60 Minutes interview in December, called her "washed up," a "low IQ traitor," and said "I don't think anyone cares about her." He also said, with the warmth of a man who had just learned a staple remover was broken, "Honestly, I don't think anyone cares about her."That is what happens when you are no longer useful. This story matters beyond the soap opera of it. It matters because Marjorie Taylor Greene is not a sympathetic figure to most of the people reading this. She has done real damage to real people. She spread QAnon. She harassed Parkland students. She said the 2018 California wildfires were caused by Jewish space lasers. She is not a victim in any broad sense of the word. But she is a mother whose son received a death threat that said he would be "snuffed out." And when she called the most powerful person in her world for help, he told her it was her own fault. That is not just a personal cruelty. It is a window into how Donald Trump treats every single person who has ever trusted him with something real. He uses them until he doesn't need them. He abandons them at the first sign of inconvenience. He turns his base against them with a single social media post. And when the mob he created turns toward someone's child, he says: you brought this on yourself.Marjorie Taylor Greene learned that lesson the hard way, on the worst possible day.She is now calling for the 25th Amendment to be invoked against him. Some lessons take years to land. This one took a death threat to her son's college address.
