I think that is a huge loss for Dems. Massive long-term loss. Pointing out the price of gas is trying to cope with that.

With the gutting of the VRA, long term (meaning likely within the next 3 years) here are the number of districts that could be gained by each party.

What don't you get? November is short-term. Those 12 seats will be in play for much longer.

Show Indiana and the other states where GOP can counter as well

The VRA doesn't change much in Indiana. It's all white people. Fact is, long term the Dems have plenty of seats they can gain if the GOP wants to keep going.

Which other states? Because a lot of red states just don't have the population to do anything. Wyoming has 1 district and 2 Senators, which is in and of itself ridiculous.

The likely end game here is that we end up roughly in the same state, only with a whole lot of people across the country with essentially no representation.

I love my husband, I do, I do, I do.

You people are hilarious. Most major news outlets are saying how big of a ruling this is for the GOP and you are in here like meh just a flesh wound. 🤣

Went from flexing the muscles over VA to nothing burger really fast.

lol You really want us to take this hard. I'm sorry that I'm not.

You're "long term the Dems are screwed line" is just not true. They can pick up districts if they have the will and the reason to (which they definitely do now). So, sure, the south can redistrict for '28 and NY alone can counter by handing 4 districts to the Dems.

You are mentally ill. I don't expect you to. Reality is that this is a huge ruling.

The economy was like the most important issue in the 2024 exit polls. Why would you think it wouldn't be one of the most important issues heading into the 2026 midterms?

It's not about November. This is a huge ruling. Is it going to help the Dems in Nov if you want to talk about that? Obviously not but it's larger than that.
