I run all of my vehicles until they hit 200k typically.  My truck (almost 9 years old) is at nearly 197,000 miles.

There's very little reason not to see a car to 200k at least.

Because they're sick, deranged, attention seeking losers?

Parents whose kids are dealing with bone diseases, precocious puberty, or mental illness are sick, deranged, attention seeking losers? You're a psycho.

The E.O. specifically mentions stopping use of it for transitioning children.

Quote

"It is the policy of the United States that it will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist or support the so-called ‘transition’ of a child from one sex to another and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures,” the order reads.

He's not exactly wrong here.

Same, although you drive more than me.  My Pilot is 11 years old and just hit 150k.  I’ll keep it until it dies or I give it to one of my kids and get myself a new one.

That's exactly what I'm doing.  My daughter just turned 16 so once she gets her license I'll give her my old truck to drive and get a new one.

I know that's supposed to be an insult but I wear it as a badge of honor.

When I taught high school my students all thought they had the coolest vehicles.  I’d be like, "what year is your pickup?”  They would be like, it’s a ‘97.  That’s who you just reminded me of

If only my car was that old

Glad to hear you drive a nicer car than high school students though. You're so cool.

Driving a 20-year-old car because you don’t want a car payment is kind of silly.  I mean, I get it.  It’s still silly though

This statement encapsulates exactly what is wrong with society as a whole.

"Owning something outright is kind of silly when you can have a loan instead."

I have a mortgage too. That’s about 10 times my car payment.

Oh, I'm glad your defense for debt is bigger debt.

@mikemack8, does the tape player still work?

By your logic anybody who can’t afford a home outright should just buy a tent at REI and live in that instead.

That's not what I said at all. Of course a mortgage is necessary for 99% of people. Perpetually having an auto loan, credit card debt, personal loans, etc. is not. There is nothing "silly" about not owing another entity money. Ever.
