Interesting pro bowl list.  Mitchell was robbed.

Goff, Daniels, Darnold over Hurts.

No AJ

i think Mailata not getting in is the biggest miss.

As long as those who wanted them to go for the record were okay with the potential scenario of someone getting hurt and missing most of next season as well (Sydney Jones from last year), then you’re allowed to have that opinion. If you’re not and would be calling for Nick’s job if they start off 2-5 next year missing a key contributor because they lost him in a meaningless week 18 game, then you’re not allowed to have it both ways.

"But anyone can get hurt at any time”. Correct. But it’s unexplainable when it happens in a meaningless game.

Mailata is the highest graded player in the NFL. He might be All-Pro.  And no Pro Bowl? Lol

Who graded him to be the highest?

And yes... Pro Bowl and All-Pro are completely different processes and have nothing specifically to do with one another.  It happens often.

Yup. Lost him and AJ in a game that likely didn't matter as long as Dallas beat a terrible Washington team. Good times!

Mailata will get to laugh at the snub once he makes All-Pro.

The media and fans need to stop emphasizing Pro Bowl as an accolade on resumes in higher priority over All Pro. A team will sign a veteran player who is washed up and they'll say he's "a Pro Bowler" but he's living on past popularity.

There are more Pro Bowlers than All Pros, and there's a 'product', no matter how ugly, related to the Pro Bowl.  The All Pro is just a list.

Glad to see Mahomes didn’t get in based on name recognition.

I really don’t think this list is that bad compared to years past when it comes to guys getting in on name recognition

Lastly, Saquon has still has the chance to break another Eric Dickerson record:

Most Rushing Yards in a Playoff Game All Time: Eric Dickerson 248 Yards.

Saquon did more that than against the Rams this year.

Dammit. Still have bad memories of Jones in the brain.

Mailata and Q snubbed, they are alternates.

Everyone knows Pro Bowl is popularity contest and All Pro is more legit.

Happy for Baun making it, and Jurgens and Carter first timers. Replacing Kelce and Cox and making the Pro Bowl. Remember when people were concerned about how to replace Kelce?

Was Mailata snubbed? Lane Johnson, Penei Sewell and Tristan Wirfs are all deserving as well and didn’t miss as many games as Mailata. It’s unfortunate for him the NFC has so many good tackles.

46 dress + the 3rd QB.   And I think 2 PS is the limit for a given week.

Only 2 PS, I figure Chuck Harris and Gabe Hall for the DL rotation. Not sure where that leaves the team at RB (is Shipley still down?) or WR (usually we run with 4+, so running thin w/o Campbell elevated).

Correct. He was OT 4 this year. Unfortunately OTs1-2-3 are in the NFC.

Wow that’s surprisingly low

I'm heavily biased. B-)

But yes.

I guess one feature of the back-up bowl is that we get see both Ringo and Rodgers for extended snaps. Does the Slay contract indicate that he’ll be here next year or no?

Jurgens will definitely be seeing a new deal this offseason. Looking forward to having 3/5 of our OL signed long term.

Hopefully Steen can be the guy at RG going forward

Why? Becton is better.

100%, he deserved it and I wouldn't call any other Eagle a snub who didn't get in

Next season is final year of his contract

Popularity contest.

Makes a complete mockery of the whole thing to be honest!

My 2 cents on the decision to sit everyone week 18, because honestly, who cares about the Pro Bowl (yeah, Mailata should have made it, but Kelce didn't make it in 2017 and 2018 despite being 1st team all-pro, so who cares).

The organization 1,000% made the right decision to sit the starters week 18. I would have been hyped to see Barkley break the record, and if you could have risked ONLY Barkley to go for it, then I can see some reason to take the risk. In 2021 they played the backups and just put Smitty out there to get the record (also, no one expected a playoff run in 2021). But with a RB, if he is going, then the OL and WRs need to play as well. Obviously need the starting OL to block (maybe you sit Lane for Fred Johnson), and you need the WRs out there to keep the defense honest. So, you're risking 9-10 guys (assuming McKee starts), not just 1, increasing the injury risk 800-900%. AJ is dealing with a knee issue, Smitty and Jordan have missed time with hamstring issues, Dickerson always manages to get dinged, and Lane is 34 years old. We had a reason to play last year in week 18 (had we won and Dallas lost, we'd have won the division instead of being a wild card), and we lost AJ for the playoff game and Jalen hurt his finger.

The 2 other reasons this makes sense are related: the bye was week 5, so these guys have been going for 12 weeks straight. They had the earliest bye in the NFL this year.

Finally, since the NFL went to the 7 team format in 2021, the Super Bowl has been 4 seed vs. 4 seed in 2021, 1 seed vs. 1 seed in 2022, and 1 seed vs. 3 seed in 2023. So half the Super Bowl teams were a 1 seed that by definition had a bye. However, in week 18 2023, KC (3 seed) sat everyone and basically got a bye because they had nothing to play for. In 2021, the Bengals sat everyone in week 18 (nothing to play for), while the Rams played their starters because they had a chance to get the 2 seed. So 5 of the 6 teams (83%) that have played in the Super Bowl in this format either had a formal bye or took an informal bye in week 18. Furthermore, NFL teams have historically played better after a bye (favorites cover 64% if the time ATS after a bye), and 20 of 32 teams have a winning record after the bye in aggregate (Eagles are 36-14, which is tied for the best in the league with Denver, https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/trend/win_trends/is_after_bye?range=yearly_all).

Resting the starters clearly increases their chances of making the Super Bowl, and the data backs it up. Even if no one got hurt, you're looking at going into the playoffs with no rest and trying to be only the second team in this format to make it without a bye week of some kind.

Business decision. I’d rather see the money go to Jurgens, Baun, and either Sweat or Milton this offseason. I feel like the fall off of play from Becton to Steen won’t be that crazy.

The only reason I would care at all is if he has a contract incentive for making the Pro Bowl. Otherwise 🥱.

I'm excited to see all the young CBs, including Eli Ricks. I still think he brings value in some capacity.

Also forgot to add Jordan Davis is eligible for a new deal. And while I know opinions vary on him, I’m keen on him getting an extension too depending on the price. Nakobe Dean as well. So many mouths to feed, gotta make decisions.
