No way - he's too important as a run stuffer. He shouldn't touch the field. Lineman can get rolled up on easily.

There is no obvious replacement for Davis on this roster -- no other real nose tackle.

Will be somewhat interesting to see how they eat the snaps at DL if Shipley can’t go.

Ojomo, Huff, Hunt, Booker.  They need someone else to eat snaps to get through the game.  If they have to burn a PS activation on a rb, that’s tough.

Id be inclined to let McKee go bombs away to lighten the RB load just so we can activate 2 PS DL.

Sorry, he's not an NFL QB. He has fantastic speed and can run the ball. I think this is a true case of he might be better at a different position.

So he is Hurts 2.0

Got it

Milroe had 3 passing TD and 9 INT in his last seven games against FBS opponents

Sounds perfect for the Gmen.

What part of Florida was that?

Agree with your thought process here.

-Nakobe Dean has been a pleasant surprise this year. However, like you said, Trotter is a very similar prospect. Trotter and Burks filled in nicely last week as well.

-Milton Williams is finally giving the team exactly what he was drafted for. He lived in the backfield at LA Tech. He was a disrupter. Now that he's next to Carter, he's getting a chance to thrive. I like Ojomo a lot too, but I like him more as a guy you move all over the DL. He was a steady player at Texas and he's proving to be the same here. I don't think he can be the force Milton Williams has shown to be. Booker is built in the same fashion, but he's a DT4 prospect in the long run.

Baun and Williams are the must re-sign players IMO. Josh Sweat is making a push to be a must have as well.

Dean and Trotter are on rookie contracts- Dean for two more years and Trotter for three and not at high-draft prices. Howie can afford to pay Baun.

Dean has only 1 year left under contract after this season.

Pathetic reason by WIP.

The delta between Seumalo and Benton is substantial at Guard … plus Benton has excellent potential as the next RT after Lane retires.

Effectively an apples and oranges comparison … not completely apples and oranges, but effectively so.

If Sirianni loses in the wild-card round again, firing him should not be out of the question.

We have a top 5 roster, so if we lose it's because we're getting outcoached or out-prepared.

Well, the circumstances of the loss would be key.  Lots of ways to lose a game that fire off a blame cannon in different directions.

I don't have ESPN+ but Fowler put something out today that Sirianni could be in trouble with an early round exit

From the Fowler article. Couple of eagles things

Fowler: Nick Sirianni has quieted the preseason noise with the Eagles' 13-3 season. Would a first-round playoff exit reignite talks about his job status? It's hard to say, but it's a question some people around the league are wondering. Sirianni's 47-20 record is impressive. Yet his standing was a talking pointcoming off a tumultuous 2023 campaign, and he doesn't have a contract extension in place. The sideline and on-field spats are sort of hard to ignore. Any firing here would be a sizable upset, but if we're talking surprises, this would be one to list because his status was a regular debate four months ago.

  • I believe Eagles OC Kellen Moore is a name that hasn't gotten enough buzz. He has impressed this season, and if Dallas opens, perhaps he can serve as comfort food for Jerry Jones. Baltimore OC Todd Monken is also in that not-enough-buzz realm. He has had quite a four-year run, helping Georgia win back-to-back national championships, and has Lamar Jackson on the fast track to potentially winning back-to-back MVPs.

Yup.  Once upon a time the Eagles fired a coach who couldn't win a playoff game, even though they made the playoffs 3 straight years.  And Marty Schottenheimer had a great record, but still got fired multiple times because there was a hump he couldn't get past.

One last thought on the Barkley thing which I'm not sure was brought up.

Obviously, I've made my case for why I think Nick made the right decision. Whether you agree with the decision or not, I think we have to give him credit for announcing it on Wednesday and not being coy up until game time. Clearly the national media was going to jump all over this -- by announcing it Wednesday, the story will run its course before the game. Had he done the usual "competitive advantage" strategy and not said anything, it would have dominated the public discourse at the beginning of Wild Card week. This way players get asked about it now and they pass the kidney stone before the playoffs.

Or he could be doing the competitive advantage by misleading the giants and coming out with the starters…….nah, even Nick couldn’t make such a boneheaded call.

The one thing GA couldn't do there was turn the ball over.

I think he has a better chance to be a good QB than Anthony Richardson

I don't think he is. Forget who it was but one of the beat guys was on the air talking about it recently too. He probably wouldn't be fired, but I don't think it's a lock if they have an ugly loss in the WC round. Even Berman today was saying that Sirianni will be and was always going to be evaluated this season based on playoff success. And you know Lurie would be foaming at the mouth to get Ben Johnson if he had reason to doubt Sirianni in the playoffs.

I hope Ben Johnson can adjust because Jalen Hurts and Jared Goff are two totally different QBs.
