Hard to imagine Jeanty would be left on the board after DAL picks in the first round?  Pretty impressive combination of speed and contact balance

Ben Johnson reportedly only wants to pair with another GM Lance Newmark…not going fly with Lurie to gain Johnson, but lose Roseman.

That report was about him possibly taking the fair job, however. Apparently he wants no part of Ryan Poles as GM.  He may be perfectly fine with Howie

Roseman is going to the Jets.

Kinda weird when in the game he got concussed he was ready to go back in the game.

It's probably some kind of gamesmanship.

A lot of players want to go back in the game when concussed.  Back in the day, it was normal/expected.  They had to put the new protocols in place, in large degree, to protect the players from themselves.

At this point how concerned should we be with hurts? This feels like we are headed towards him not being ready for the play offs? At best he may only get a day or two practice.

We should be very concerned whether he plays or not, because he can’t effectively throw the football.

I have a few reasons for wanting to keep Becton. 1. He’s better. 2. Lane has one more year (jmo) and Becton can definitely play RT. 3. See 1. He’s a lot better. 4. I like Steen as the swing OL a lot.

I understand your rationale. I just think the delta of Becton over Steen is greater than you think plus, Howie will figure something out.🙏

Why should we think Becton can play RT?

Outside of a few penalties early in year, I must say I'm very proud of Cam.  Losing Jason was monumental.  Cam really learned under Jason and is now a Pro-Bowler after his 1st full season starting in the position.  Jalen seems really comfortable working with him in the role this year.

He must have been told he's a potential 1st or 2nd round pick.  I don't think he's worth that kind of pick.  I also wonder if Alabama told Milroe he would have to compete against Keelon Russell as a starter.

Or they told him Richardson was a top 5 pick…you could be the #1 overall…or the 200th.  Anywhere in between.

Fun fact, 2025 is the start of "Generation Beta". Meaning we're 2 generations beyond Gen Z now.

Happy Thursday you old ****.

I can’t even imagine how stupid the literal beta generation is going to be.

I honestly don’t think there’s much to worry about with Hurts…he has to be cleared by an independent neurologist.  I imagine those sit downs go like this since we all know he speaks pretty much exclusively in cliche’s and catch phrases.  The doc just needs to be shown a few pressers.  He’ll be fine.

Neurologist: Hello Jalen. Nice to meet you. I am the neurologist in charge of your case, Dr DeLuca.

Hurts: Be you. Thats always enough.™

Neurologist: Uh. Thanks. How are you feeling today?

Hurts: Hurts so good.™

Neurologist: Ok. Well, thats not the news we were hoping for. But lets do an exam and see how things have been progressing.

Hurts: I get 1% better every day.

Neurologist: Improvement is good. But based on my review of your case, and your presentation today, we still arent there yet. You are not fully recovered, and I cant clear you just yet.

Hurts: I had a purpose before anyone had an opinion.™

Neurologist: Thats good to hear Jalen. But my medical opinion is what counts here. I will communicate this to your medical staff.

Hurts: So I can play?

Neurologist: No.

Hurts: Rents due.

Neurologist: Have a good day. Ill see you again next week.

Hurts: Keep the main thing the main thing.

Because he’s freakishly gifted from a physical perspective, played well at LT when he wasn’t injured, and has the best OL coach possibly in the history of the sport.

People didn’t believe me when I said he would get drafted high based purely on his physical talent.

He may not be a good QB, but he’s a GREAT athlete. That’s worth a chance at some point. Hurts wasn’t a good QB when we drafted him either. Physically, Milroe is a better version of Hurts — nearly as strong, significantly faster, stronger arm. I think Hurts is more accurate in rhythm and has better intangibles off the field, but clearly Milroe has the higher ceiling.

If he’s there in the 2nd or 3rd I’d be tempted if you think you can develop him.

I mean if they lose 35-10 or something in the 1st round then I can absolutely see that.

I don't think that will happen tho.

Dallas will be picking in the top 15, possibly top 10.

I’m probably alone in this, but I don’t see him as that level of RB. He has decent size, good but not great speed. Excellent balance, yes. Not very elusive. Not dynamic as a receiver.

I wouldn’t take him in the top half of the first round, personally. In the 20’s? Absolutely.

I posted this before, but the defense should be:

DT: Ojomo, Booker and elevate Gabe Hall. Davis, Carter and Williams sit down

Edge: Huff, Hunt and elevate Harris. Nolan and Sweat sit.

LB: Burks and Trotter go all game, Dean and Baun sit

Outside CB: Ringo and Ricks

Slot CB: Maddox

Safety: McCollum and Brown

Harris starts. Hunt minimal snaps.

This kid Hunt is really growing on me. To go from a safety at the NY suicide bridge to HCU edge to the NFL, get forced into significant playing time, and hold your own is really impressive.

If Dallas is dumb enough to take a running back in the 1st round, we should all be happy. They need to draft nothing but defensive and offensive line.

I think they will all have to play around the same number of snaps. 3 man rotation, and Huff may still not be in complete football shape.

I’m actually open to a RB in the first round. Especially on this team since we already have a complete roster and the whole offense is based on the run game. I really liked the kid on the Lions, Gibbs, if he had lasted to the pick we used on Smith. Said it at the time, and was also all in on the kid from Miami… always felt an OL like ours would benefit faster, more elusive RBs.

Anyway, my issue is I need a unique combination of traits. Gibbs was a Faulk clone — speed, elusiveness and hands, yet still pretty good between the tackles. Saquon is some bizarre combination of Sanders and Emmitt… but bigger and faster than their averages.

I think where teams get in trouble is when they don’t hold out for RARE talent combinations. Jeanty is a really fun guy to watch. I think he’ll be a good player. But realistically he has 1 elite trait — balance after contact. And he’s showing this against lesser competition. If he runs a 4.3, or he was flashing elite hands, or he looked like Sayers in the open field… absolutely take him in the first. But he isn’t elite in those areas.

I think he gets overdrafted in reaction to the success the run game has had league wide this season. It’s a copy cat league and what better way to cover up mediocre QB play?

Wondering if the Ducks can fire Lanning and bring back Chip?

Not a popular take around here but Chip Kelly as OC can be scary good. As HC hell nah.
