Yea that's just referring to the 10 minute window reporters get to watch practice when players warm-up and do some individual drills. He's not out there for those. But being in meetings and around the team is encouraging vs being locked away in a dark room doing nothing.

I believe the team can basically just hold him at this phase and not try to progress him yet to joining practice. Since he wouldn't be practicing anyway, there's no reason to push him through.

Yea, I think the same as well. I'm a little bit surprised they didn't have him be a limited participant today. Not to take away reps from McKee or Book, but just do some individual work so that he can progress to next phase before the FP and independent Dr clearance so that there was nothing in his way for all next week. But I wonder if they can progress him to that point some other way than just being limited in practice.

Yes, but we didn't make any significant signings there this off season with Vic, a boatload of cap space available and Vic's main guy being available in Van Ginkel. No one knew what Baun was, he wasn't even signed to be an off the ball LB actually but a special teamer/edge rusher. Hopefully now with Vic molding Baun into what he is and Howie witnessing how important he is, he pulls the trigger.

Howie didn't sign any ILB of significance with Vic here this off season. Hopefully now he saw just how important it is and gets Baun extended.

My take on Becton’s proficiency as a Guard in all phases of his responsibilities is that he has been learning a new position … a position that has to coordinate with the players on both sides, not just one side.  Run blocking is pretty straightforward, but pass blocking has to deal with stunts and blitzes.  So the learning curve is steeper.  In the recent games his pass blocking has been considerably better than it was early in the season.
