Don't really understand rhe logic of that last pass to Friernuth. Even if the Steelers complete that pass, I don't think there is any way they get the field goal team on in time with no timeouts

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. They would have had less than 10 seconds once he's tackled and there is just no way they can get the FG team on the field and line up to make that kick. Even trying to spike the ball would have been a stretch.

No logic. Wilson just ished the bed (again).

Burrow with 37 completions tonight. Guy is an absolute magician.

The Steelers could easily (maybe) have hurried up and spiked the ball to stop the clock. It made absolute sense.

They weren’t in FG range yet even with the completion; they were trying to convert the first down and spike to kill the clock.  15 seconds is really tight to try that, but the terrible route Pickens ran before that probably meant the Steelers weren’t going to get a 12-yard completion at the sideline anyway.

Pickens has talent but is a complete headcase.  He's got some growing up to do if he is ever going to be a top WR.  Friermuth is the only really reliable target they have.

Vikings fans are annoying as hell when they make the playoffs

Its not happening, but I'd love a "mutual parting of ways" between Tomlin and the Steelers. Would like to see him get the kind of reset Andy got, just get out of this rut.

You may be right…it’s just that it was in a very public setting.  But I don’t care enough about it to defend him more than that…

Exactly.  Not to mention the amount of security cameras all over that place.

He’s honestly really awesome. Bengals fans are lucky. Funny dude too.

Got to be maddening for them to have a qb like that and a team like that.  Kind of the opposite of….oh never mind.

pickens head is full of cte and youngboy nba lyrics.

Had the Washington game gone normally, we’d still have a shot at the #1 seed, our QB would be healthy and not a question if he misses the playoff game, and Saquon would be playing today as it’s now an important game

Thats probably the most costly regular season game we’ve had in a long long time

He'd probably have the record considering how he was running all over them and had 100 yards in Q1

Even if we beat Washington, and beat the Giants, we're still likely the #2 seed as we would have lost the tie-breaker to Minnesota (assuming Vikings beat Detroit). If Detroit beats Minnesota, there was nothing we could have done.

The NFL should do what it can to eliminate QB Hits as a relevant statistic.

Defenders know that it is used to determine effectiveness, so they look to get in a QB hit whenever possible.

This is a selfish behavior that leads to unnecessary roughness penalties that hurt their own team and addition injury risk to the quarterback.

Yep. We always needed 2 Lions losses and a Vikings loss. Neither happened yet so today would be practically meaningless and it would force all the starters to play in a Hail Mary game.

The only people that would be happy is who wanted the rushing record.

It's already not a statistic that's officially recognized by the league, so I'm not exactly sure what you think should be done about it.

I’m not sure we would have lost the tiebreaker to Minnesota, but it is moot regardless … so I will mute myself on that subject from now on.

Interesting idea.

This is from the Eagles/Steelers Gamebook downloaded from NFL.com.

I stand corrected. Maybe it's qb "hurries" or "pressures" I'm thinking of them that aren't officially tracked. My bad.

But in this case, I agree that they should no longer recognize it as an official stat given the contradictory intent of so many roughing the passer penalties.

Make sure it isn't allowed to be an incentivized statistic in player contracts.

Oh, it's possible that we would have won it but it would have been tricky.

Ex: We needed the Rams to beat the Seahawks, but the Rams are benching starters. We needed the Saints to beat the Bucs or the Panthers to beat the Falcons. Possible, just unlikely.
