There was no glaring unknown though. McKee dominated in his pre-season reps last year as well. And they should have seen him in practice all year long as well. 

It made some sense if there was a really good #2. But they got Pickett who was clearly not as good. 

After 3 quarters, behind a backup OL, throwing to Dotson and handing it off to Will Shipley, Tanner McKee has more yards than 10 of Hurts games this year. He's 3 yards short of 11. This offense would be next level with a different style QB throwing the ball to Smith and Brown.
