Trot Jr. had a hard time pulling runners down, also seemed to be covering grass in zone (very reminiscent of Nakobe last year). Not a great debut.

I'm not going to lose sleep over it.  He's a rookie, and he was a 5th round pick for a reason.  He needs to get stronger, and he needs to put in the work in the classroom.  He didn't embarrass himself, but he showed his inexperience and youth today.

I love the added threat of a QB taking off and running. But thats about the last thing Id ever think about saying McKee needs to learn right now. Id be thrilled to see him clean up some accuracy on the roll outs, and make a few better decisions. Arm was solid, but that can improve some too. And when he is as good as he looks like he could be, I still wont be thinking about him running because he proved how effective he can be finding the outlets and actually gaining yards that way.

Pickett isn't the guy and neither is McKee but we saw what the offense can look like with a real QB who can throw the ball and see more than one target.

Do they pass protect as well as Gainwell?  A lot of the time he is in, he is in pass protection.   Frankly, Shipley is his replacement.  They typically draft for that role the season before the existing player’s contract is up.   I believe that Trot2 may well have been drafted as Burks’ replacement back when they were probably anticipating a Burks/Baun battle at ILB with Burks seemingly the most likely to win the battle (as was likely the status at the time of the draft). If they can retain Baun (and possibly Burks too) then Trot2 becomes the potential Dean replacement.

Monangai is known for blowing up blitzers.

There wasn't a TE on the Cardinals that Breaston had to compete with for targets.

Keep trying.

thats the same as here where our TE is not really thrown to.

I think the offense would be extremely potent with McKee as the starter here. He totally could be the guy and we would see the offense we would like to see.

Why is Stafford not in the game for the Rams?

A really strange decision to not play their starters

Ok.  But seriously.  What happened to Stafford?

What a terrible play by Jimmy G.

Didn’t play today. Sat him instead of playing for the 3 seed

Really?  They chose to take the 4 seed then?

As a side note, I see the loser of tonight's game getting bounced in Round 1.  And the Rams could then go into either Detroit or Minny and knock off the other 1.

And the Eagles can beat the Packers, and then the Bucs... and then the Rams to get to the Super Bowl.   I see it like its already happened.

Looks like ultimately it’s doomed them to a game against either the Vikings or Lions. It was a decision that almost worked though.

I’m guessing Garrett Wilson isn’t invited to Rodgers drug retreat this offseason

McVay doesn’t care about which seed he is…rest was more important to him

Whichever team loses tonight will be vulnerable in Round 1.  Facing a team coming off essentially a bye... makes them that much more vulnerable.

I dont see the Rams beating both of those teams. Its possible but feels like 50/50 at best for each game.

Rams beat Minnesota in la earlier this year when they were fully healthy for the first time all year. Played the lions close in Detroit week 1 down 3 starting OL, nacua for 3.5 quarters and down half their starting secondary. That’s a tough matchup. However it’ll probably be 50-50 crowd for Minnesota and lions in La

Maybe mcvay is also a script writer

I like Rams if they play the Lions, not so sure about them beating Minnesota though

What’s everyone’s prediction for when the eagles play next weekend

Taking the Vikings out in LA... then the injuries finally catching up to Detroit...   yeah, I see it as a very real possibility.  No guarantee, obviously.  But, I see the path.

That’s the one consolation… Both teams are going to beat the snot out of each other tonight and one of them isn’t going to get a week to recover. Plus that team will have to go on the road.
