The season is over.  The starting qb threw for 2,900 yards and 18 TDs this year.

Only 3 QBs in history have thrown for more when there was a RB with 2k+ yards. Just saying

I wonder when Lions lose their window. 49ers was pretty short

49ers had a 5 year run, making 2 Super Bowls.  Not that short.

Did anybody tell you that he missed almost the entire last 3 games?

Yep. It looked like Bradley was about to be Eagles coach until Chip changed his mind. I remember they had helicopters over Luries mansion the whole time he was interviewing there lol.

He had plenty of time to rehearse by doing jack crap all offseason.

We'll get Rich Scangarello back too then

Might as well bring back Marty Moronweig while we're at it.

As much as I hate to admit it, that was impressive. More believable than half the actors in Hollywood.

And Collinsworth explains why Tampa got the SNF slot... That guy has way too much pull.  Even got his son a gig working for SNF.  :nonono:

That's 'Collingsworth' on these boards

This is hilarious

That's impressive research.  Thank you and well done.

He’s been a leading HC candidate for years, and he’s taken the most talented offense in the league other than QB1, turned them into a run first team, and the 2nd worst passing team in football simply bc he has no other option.

That's selling Saquon and our OL short. He's the best RB in the league behind one of the best run blocking OL, so it's more of a case to playing to our strengths rather than being left with no other option. Similar case in DET with Gibbs and Montgomery and their OL.

That’s pretty much his real life story so it probably came natural to him.

Sorry. It doesn’t fit their narrative.

OL would need to be younger.

9 hours ago, TEW said:

He really does need them.

He’s still so young that he would be of normal age joining the 2025 draft class.

But the only way he is going to improve is to get enough snaps to get over the growing pains. I get that this year we are loaded for bear and have really talented, proven veterans ahead of him.

But next year he needs to be the primary 3rd boundary CB and used in significant sub packages at the very least. The crazy thing is that Ringo has the ability to play a sort of safety/corner hybrid role. He’s big, hits hard, tackles well, yet has the long speed and length to match up on the outside.

I believe I am going to be happy with what I see watching Ringo in the All22 this week.  Thought his coverage was solid watching live but All22 lets me see all the snaps.

I think they need to find a way to play 95% of the defensive snaps.  Nickel cb is as valuable as anywhere else.  It’s just less valuable when it’s also CB3 who also sits out 25% or so of the defensive snaps.

I don’t know if that means playing some safety or playing out wide.

Just make sure he’s on the field.

They could do like they did with Al Harris.  When he would come in, he played OCB.  Do that with Ringo, for example.   In base D, play Cooper outside and in nickel, Coop slides to NCB and Ringo comes in as OCB.

Ringo is actually in an odd way similar to DeJean.

Both of their knocks coming out of college were tight hips. Both are good tacklers. Both are extremely athletic and known as big game play makers. Both were looked at by some people as possible safety prospects because of the tight hips.

Ringo is bigger, longer, and faster. DeJean is more of a smooth athlete and more explosive in short areas. They are kind of mirror players with Ringo being a boundary tweener and DeJean being a nickel tweener.

10 hours ago, LeanMeanGM said:

Is everyone just content next year leaving DeJean as NCB? It was a pretty steep price to pay for a NCB but it's also likely his best spot on the field. I'm curious if they ever try him on the outside at all in the offseason. I'm still not convinced he can at the NFL level and be a high end player.

In today’s NFL with the incredibly productive third receivers, be they TEs or slot WRs the Nickel CB is every bit as important as the second Boundary CB.

Keep him where he is and don’t underpay him.

Four D-Linemen
Two LBs
Two Safeties
Two Boundary CBs

That only gets you to 10 players.  Who would be the 11th if it isn’t DeJean?

10 hours ago, TEW said:

Absolutely. DeJean was born to play NCB. He’s an impact player there and slot receivers tend to have a high share of passes go to them, especially on critical 3rd and medium type situations.

Agreed 100%.  Further he has played enough Safety in his career that he gives Fangio a whole lot of flexibility.

They didn't trade two picks for DeJean.  They traded 50, 53, and a later pick for 40 and 78.

Said another way, they traded 50 and 53 for DeJean and Jalyn Hunt.

10 hours ago, bpac55 said:

I didn't list the full trade, but part of it was their 2 2nd round picks. That trade turned in to nearly their entire draft class when you break down the additional trades made with the picks acquired.

True, but keeping it simple they got DeJean and Hunt for 50 and 53.
