He panics when the play breaks down and speeds up his process. He's gotten better over the years, but I think it's a function of when he was younger, he'd just take off. When he's confident and in rhythm, he's basically unstoppable. That's why I like it when they go tempo and empty -- he seems most confident that way.

I think the plan has always been to go up tempo and empty more in the playoffs and that we would have seen a good bit of that against Dallas if Hurts had played.  Now I'm not so sure given the rust that Hurts is bound to suffer.  I still think we ultimately go that route as teams try to stuff the box.  Some of that as the called play and then moving into that set via audible in other instances.  Saquon will still get his 20 carries.

Why not Becton?  Put a bunch on incentives for OT starts in his contract to incent him to stay here.  By the time Lane goes, Stout should have the next guy ready for RG.

Agreed.

At the very least he gives us options.

Howie re-signing Williams at the expense of Baun would be the most Howie-shít ever.

There is one item out there that is a ticking clock and that is the long term replacement for Lane.  We didn't do it in the 2024 offseason and it must be done either in the 2025 or the 2026 offseason as Lane's time is coming to an end.  That is going to require high draft capital or a big FA move unless we are going to roll the dice.

In a word: Becton. One of Steen and Keegan to play guard when Lane retires and Becton moves outside. Neither high draft capital nor a big FA move is necessary.

One of the many arguments to bring Becton back is the possibility that he slides out to RT when Lane is done and Steen or Keegan become RG.

If I'm Howie, one of the first calls I'm making is with the Raiders to see what Michael Mayer costs. Is Darius Slay's contract tradeable? He's still playing at an above average level. I wonder if he could be moved to make room for the young guys.

Never really came back from the leg injury.  Another Georgia player.

Speed, aggressive and a big hitter. I like this trend we have been taking as of late. Could be a good special teamer right away too.

Yep - guaranteed topic on Get Up tomorrow morning

Wonder if he has anything undisclosed going on with his ribs.  Looks like he's got a bullet proof vest on.

We shouldn't play dirty, but I would prioritize blitzing early just to see how he reacts to hits.

According to the ref analysis, the assigned crew is very protective of QBs - but let’s them play otherwise.

Baun is on the field nearly 100% of time, I think it’s worth investing in one LB for this reason.

Do practice squad players get Superbowl rings?  I wonder how players feel about being poached during the playoffs. I'm sure the opportunity to play trumps everything for most guys. And Cine is still going to a good team. But still the timing must be awkward.

If Howie does have interest and no one else does, then he becomes a UDFA target.

My understanding is academy grads have to serve 2 years before they can go pro… can you sign a contract now so a team retains your rights?

I think he has a choice - but going to a good team, on the 53 and making better $ makes it an easy one.

OK, seeing the picture in this tweet, along with the Milton Williams chatter has me thinking.

Trade for Devonte Wyatt.

Trade for Travon Walker, fine player just not better than Hutch.

NFL.COM's payoff prediction through to the Super Bowl:

Spoiler

I don't know that the Vikings lose to the Rams, which throws their entire NFC prediction out the window from the start because the Vikings could go into Detroit and beat the Lions, despite what happened this past Sunday and then, if the rest of their prediction comes true, the NFCCG is in Philly.

The Eagles will be playing, and beating, Buffalo.

The key difference between the two SB contending teams is that the Bills had him on their Practice Squad and the Eagles have put him on their active roster.  More money and more opportunity.
