I don't get the hype for Drew Allar at all.

He looks the part, that's about it.

Agreed - he sucks.  Should have sent him to the portal and kept Pribula

Looks like Carter is out again

If I already had millions of dollars and enjoyed where I currently lived? No. And I'm not saying Baun loves it here, but I personally wouldn't. Makes no sense

For $10 million extra for a couple years?  I would.  Keep my house in the place I love, work for a couple years in another city, net an extra $5 million that could turn into $10 million over 7 years in relatively conservative investments, and move back to the place I love after a couple years.  Sign me up.

Here’s the big game James team I remember -

Penn state ruins QBs with high upside

King getting abused in coverage

PSU WRs have 0 catches through 3 qtrs lol. Neither one of these teams beating Ohio state.. or even Texas for that matter

Wow. What a run

that was a manly run.

That was an impressive run for the TD... and poor tackling.

Ok.   I saw why partly there was poor tackling.  Carter can't wrap up at all.  Guy is gutting it out with only one arm.  His left arm isn't even moving.

The rest of the defense has no excuse.

Love in 2 years would be fantastic too. Heisman front-runner IMO right now.

That's a concussion

Yup.

That's gotta be a concussion for Warren

I don't get trying to be cute.  Trust Singleton and Allen to run it if that's the plan.

. Abdul Carter is a better pass rusher with one arm than Bryce Huff.    He's the one guy from this PSU team I'd love to see be drafted here, but he'll be long long long gone by the time the Eagles are on the clock.

Howie needs to reach deep into that magic hat of his and figure out a way to trade Huff.

Kind of fascinating that ND and PSU are matched up in this game.  Neither one can beat a top 5 opponent in a big game, but someone has to win for the right to not hang with OSU next week.

He managed to unload Byron Maxwell after one year... I still have no idea how he did that AND got the Eagles moved up in the first round while doing it.

Warren is back.

In his first season as a starter, being moved from primarily an edge to an off-ball LB, Baun is receiving 1st team all pro recognition, playing behind a less talented DL (wouldn't you agree?) than Joyner played behind. So I don't have to "reach" to conclude what an accomplishment it has been for Baun. You can pretend it's a fluke if it makes you feel better, but I see a play-maker in the Seth Joyner mold --- an off ball LB that can tackle well, blitz, cover, and create big turnovers. All Joyner's accolades happened after he was 27 years old.

So I, personally, feel your argument that people that don't agree with you are dumb, is itself dumb and lazy. Now if you would have argued that you believe we already have a viable replacement for Baun on the roster, that's the type of argument I can respect. Heck, Trotter Jr has played 104 defensive snaps as a rookie and has an outstanding PFF grade of 84.7 (including a coverage grade of 90.0). While PFF grades aren't the end-all to debate by any stretch of the imagination, that's a good sign that he's a rookie with potential and has gotten some experience in meaningful (actual regular season) games. As encouraging as that is to me, I'm not ready to crown Trotter Jr as the next Baun. But in a situation where cap space dictates the decision, I'm fine with the cheaper decision. I just don't think we're that dire when it comes to cap space. I'd rather pay Baun market value for an ILB than overpay to keep Becton or Williams. Baun played 939 snaps and Williams played 501. Even with Trotter waiting in the wings for his shot in the NFL, I'm just as encouraged by Moro Ojomo's push for more playing time. So if Williams walks, we have a slightly more proven young player ready to replace his snaps. (William's PFF: 70.1 --- OJomo's PFF: 68). Williams may be a hard guy to keep because he may get a 4 year / 80M contract offer by a team that would use him as a full-time starter. We can't really afford to match that for a player that is a rotational guy. It makes more sense to lock up Carter in the next year than to win a bidding war for Williams.

You are literally comparing a guy who has had one great year in his career at age 27 to one of the greatest LB's in the team history. You are also sighting PFF grades which tells me all I need to know about you. Also, yes, people who disagree with me are dumb because anyone who knows football knows that you win and lose in trenches and that isn't some cute little expression, it's truth. The Eagles have typically undervalued the LB position but most of the hoagie mouths have over corrected and overvalued it. Lastly, Calling Williams a "rotational guy" is both lazy and stupid as well. He is clearly our second best pass rushing DT, and arguably our second best DT period. At only 25 it isn't foolish to expect that his best years are ahead of him as well, and this 4 year/80 million contract is something that you are just making up to serve your point. None of us what these guys are going to ask for/get and so the question is and was, who should be the higher priority in general.

Like I said... trust Allen and Singleton.

No team benefited more than PSU with the expansion of the playoffs. No one
