I think Lane is the only reasonable 1st team snub. Mailata was deserving but he went on IR and missed a quarter of the season so I see that potentially pushing him to 2nd team. Dickerson was good but felt like a slightly down year for him. Jurgens is always going to have an uphill battle with Humphrey.

I figured the injuries knocked Lane and Mailata out of 1st team

The holds and noncalls really hurt Carter in the stats department

Apparently the VP of officiating emphasized to teams before the season that the refs would be looking for and being less lenient with taunting and unsportsmanlike conduct. He also reiterated to all the playoff teams HC's and GM's that it will continue in the post season.

Someone post this in CJGJ's locker, please.

It did, because of the poster in Stout's office "Hungry dogs run faster"... and then the whole 'underdog' thing as the 6 seed coming to the Linc was the favorite to win that Divisional playoff round game over a 1 seed (which had never happened before).  It fit... but its had its time and needs to be retired.

I know the story. I still never liked it

Not liking it, and it not fitting are two different things.  I can't tell you that you have to like it, but I can objectively tell you that it fit.

Also,

Kenny Pickett for a 2nd. Thank you Browns!

Amen brother!  Do it Howie!

Lane is better than Sewell and should have been first team.

Bobby Wagner might be the most overrated player of all-time based on being an all-pro 11 straight years. He simply hasn’t been at that level for a long time.

The whole OL got screwed.

Mailata is the best tackle in football. Lane all day over Sewell. And no Dickerson?

Wish they would let go of the dog thing already. It's been 8 years.

Nah. That was underdogs.  Hungry.

This is a pack of dogs.  Vicious.

Subtle, but a real difference.

For me personally, I wouldn't be haggling over $1-2 million when I've already got millions of dollars and I'm going to continue being paid millions of dollars. But I don't care about having four lambos, a 6,000 square foot house, and a yacht. I don't really want for anything (and we don't live a simple life- we travel, eat out, etc), and I'm not rich by any means, anyone can see my pay with a quick Google search. If i won the lottery tomorrow i can't imagine doing any more than paying off our cars (well my wife wants a new one) and our mortgage right away and then just waiting for the next travel opportunity.

I'm not saying these dudes need to live like a regular joe, but they can live their lifestyle on a $10m per year contract vs a $12m per year one. If we're talking about a UDFA or 7th round pick looking at their second contract, sure get every bit you can. But dudes on their 3rd contract, or first round picks looking for their second, already have millions of dollars.

But I digress, rich people do rich things that I'll never understand

Because a million dollars is a lot of money and athletes don't have long-term earning potential at that pay rate.

Eagles are vicious too

The fact is, investing isn’t easy, and trying to live off the yield of investments while not losing principal or having it eaten away by inflation is difficult. Very bright people from the best schools in the world struggle to manage money professionally, but somehow a pro athlete is going to be just fine passing on millions of dollars per year.

That is why mutual funds exist

You are conflating all kinds of things here.  1 - Wawa already has Kelce, they aren't going to switch to Baun.   2 - Kelce isn't getting even close to $2.5M per year from Wawa.  3 - Kraft cheating the system and funneling money to Brady to circumvent the salary cap isn't what we are talking about with NILs and endorsements.

That is exactly what we are talking about.

So we are talking about cheating the salary cap?  Nah, I don't think we are.

Makes sense, Kirk is used to sharing a locker room with a horny QB

this is great news for the browns. They undoubtedly insured that contract, so this is massive cap savings for them

if I worked in that front office I’d be jumping for joy today

Agreed on all counts. But yeah I just hate that the tiebreaker with Lane/Sewell is Ben Johnson doing cool things with Sewell

A million dollars is a lot of money when it is your first million, but not so much when it is your fifth million and even less when it is your tenth million.

That is exactly what we are talking about.  Kraft set the standard.

Very few.  If you do your risk research you won’t choose one that might.  Fidelity, Vanguard, etc. aren’t at any risk of going belly up.
