Yeah, not a great example to support his case.

Herbert played like balls tonight but you have to cut him *some* slack.   That team hung him out to Fing dry tonight.

How do you have daniels and jackson above stafford? Are they talking about never play a playoff game Jayden Daniels..is there another Daniels QB I'm missing?!!

It's a lot like the fawning over Elway, long before he did anything.

We certainly shouldn't fault Herbert for how awful he he has been this game.   Nor should we for his role in the Chargers blowing a 27-7 lead in the playoffs to the Jaguars a couple years back.

You have moved the goal posts.  Your statement was about winning a game … not losing a game.  Winning is a team accomplishment, losing often is also a team accomplishment.  However, just as an ocean liner can sink due to a single event, a team can lose due to a fatal flaw generated by an individual player.

Ravens gonna pound Steelers by at least 20 pts.  Gonna be ugly.

Lots.

The guy has under achieved relative to his physical skills and attributes. But he's still young and if he can escape the nightmare situation down in LA he will have a shot at becoming an elite QB instead of the next David Carr.

Herbert is supremely talented, but he hasn't put it all together yet. Still a ways to go.

Yup, if he were on this team he's a different QB. He forces way too much because he has nothing, it's gotten him into a lot of bad habits, so he's probably never going to be a top tier QB. Has all the tools but has been ruined

Chargers playcalling was trash. Also surprised they didn't have him run

A couple of those picks wasn't on Herbert

Disappointed it wasn't competitive but also happy for DeMeco

The reality is there is a top tier with 4 guys in the AFC who carry their team.

The second tier has a bunch of names including our own guy who can be good in the right circumstances.

Go Steelers

F the Ravens

I miss our franchise QB having elite arm talent (Cunningham, McNabb, Wentz). Hurts doesn't have that. At the same time, that can't be all you have. Look at Herbert.

The steelers have zero shot of beating the chiefs. The ravens could.

Everyone always tells me how good Herbert is. 😂😂😂😂.   Bye bye chargers.

Even more enjoyable is Bye Bye Harbaugh!

He had a very bad game to put it mildly. Granted, he doesn’t have the strong cast around him this year that he has had in years past.

But they got this far because they / he were great at one thing all year and that was avoiding turnovers. But then in the biggest game of the year he throws more picks than he has all year.

Tbh they are likely ahead of schedule for where they should be since cap issues last offseason put them in the spot they are in offensively with skill position players. It’s why Mike Williams is gone and Keenan Allen got traded away to Chicago. Frankly they wasted his rookie contract on one coach who was awful in Staley and Lynn was also not very good

Herbert was still atrocious today. Missing guys and overthrows and a couple of bad ints (one was on dissly and his last DJ chark was getting ripped on the radio by announcer for a terrible route). He obviously has to be better going forward. That said they had 11 wins with Quentin Johnston, reagor, DJ chark, mcconkey, dissly and Joshua Palmer as his receiving threats. I’m guessing they add a TE and WR this offseason. Like i said earlier they have the worst collection of skill position players of any playoff team.

im curious to see Herbert in year 2 with harbaugh with upgraded talent at the skill position. Mcconkey might be the only guy back from that group.

Probably. But we've seen Lamar and Harbaugh deliver some serious postseason stinkers.

Wins are a team stat not a QB stat. Two things can be true, Herbert sucked today, but you can't evaluate all QB performances just based on the end team result alone. For example, if Hurts plays a terrible game tomorrow, that weighs heavier because he has a better team around him and is at home.

Multiple things can be true at the same time.

1 - Herbert didn't play well.

2 - Herbert was not alone in that, his OL was horrid.

3 - The cast surrounding Herbert is also nothing like what is on this roster.  His top receiving target is Ladd McConkey.   And I challenge anyone to name another WR on that team.   Will Dissly is the TE.

4 - Herbert has more arm talent than Jalen Hurts.

So... when folks who are disappointed by Hurts' passing acumen point to Herbert, you can see why he'd be a target to discuss, because despite the lack of playmakers around him, the guy puts up stats.  And, they won 11 games this year, once again with Ladd McConkey as their top WR.  He'd be the slot WR here.  That said, there are deficiencies in his game, as there are in Hurts' game as well.  Neither is perfect.

I have a Steelers fan coworker that hates Tomlin and has wanted him fired for 6yrs now. I hope the Steelers win just so I can give him sh!t.
Doesn’t matter who wins though, Steelers wouldn’t beat the Chiefs and the Ravens won’t beat the Bills in Buffalo.

I mean we have aj brown, smith, goedert and barkley and a top 3 OL. The chargers have mcconkey, Johnston, DJ chark, palmer, dissly, jk dobbins and Gus Edwards and an ok OL. I think burying Herbert right now (he was awful today) when he might have the worst skill position players of any playoff team due to incompetence of previous regimes cap management is a little premature.

I agree, just responding to someone rooting for the steelers to win.

I didn't realize Tomlin was that tall.

Amen.
