EMB Blog: 2024 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

Real Revenge Tour.

Not only are the Packers looking for revenge for week 1. They are more than "pissed" over the way last season ended with a loss to the Niners in the playoffs. Steamrolled Dallas in Dallas and then outplay the Niners for 4 quarters and lost on a missed FG from a rookie kicker. A rookie kicker that is gone.

The Packers also want Detroit, the Packers are the true Kings Of The North. The Lions have not won any hardware since 1957.

See you after the game. No matter the outcome.

You’re in for a world of hurt today, bud.

A moderate double digit loss would be a good outcome for the Packers.

My only goal is to win. That and stay healthy

He hasn’t played for three weeks and it has been four since he had more than a couple drives. To me it is useful in this game to get him snapped in. I’d like one Hurts run and two throws in the first 6-8 plays and then I would run, run, run and mix a play action 20+ throw in here there.

Now if we are already down a TD when we get the ball for our first drive then I’d just run.

See, I’d do the opposite and protect Hurts. We aren’t a passing team, and he’s coming off a concussion. Just keep it simple, run the ball, stay in manageable third downs and this should be a relatively easy playoff win.

If we execute, we win.

Just go out there and put it on them.  Let Barkley and the offensive line beat the ever loving crap out of them.  Shut Jacobs down and force Love and his sore elbow make all the throws.  Continue kicking the crap out of them until they're gassed.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I don’t want. Every time we do this it’s 3 and out.

There’s no reason to try to "get Hurts involved” or whatever. The goal is to win the game. Our best plan of attack is to run early and run often.

Hurts is a game manager, not Peyton Manning. Run on first and second down. If it’s 3rd and 6 or more, then you can think about throwing.

Would love to see a play action deep shot in the first 2 plays

You didn’t look very pissed in weeks 17 and 18. Hopefully you get a new QB before 3pm, and not the guy who got bodied by the Bears

I can easily see a scenario where we try to throw early. If we do use RPOs, then it depends on what GB presents too.

Either way, I want our offense to be attacking them. Be aggressive, not passive.

No thanks. Save that for if we need it mid game. I just want possession to start the game and to start punishing their defense with our OL. No 3 and outs. Just move the sticks, eat up the clock, and begin the demoralization process on their defense.

Running the ball IS aggressive.

I can’t think of a more aggressive act than telling 1,700 pounds worth of offensive lineman to beat the crap out of the guy in front of them over, and over, and over again.

Welp

I truly hope you understood the Dumb and Dumber reference.  If not, I’m not sure if we’ll be able to continue this friendly banter.

Oh no...it went right past me...never watched it from end to end...familiar with the bathroom scene, maybe a couple of others, that's about it. Additionally, and sadly, I sometimes miss references and on a rare occassion some sarcasm here.

Will feel better about the Eagles if the Broncos win. Always one-upset in the wild-card round although you could argue the Texans qualified.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Bills upset today. I don't expect it, but I'm not opposed to it.

If we don’t win…2 of the 3 teams without SB’s i would be ok with winning it all.  Lions/Bills.  F the Vikings.

Can you imagine Hurts with Buffalo’s offense?  😂  He’d be dead within a half.

The Eagles haven’t won a wildcard playoff game since 2008. All their playoff wins since have been divisional round or later.
