I think its fairly obvious looking at all the ear marks on that book that its been read quite a bit.

Playing victim?

The media wants him to play the victim and hes like, Nah ...

Eagles media would rather drama then have the team they cover win, drama sells more than winning, its sad really.

Yes, he constantly plays victim. Name one player ever to pull out a paper back book on the sidelines in between drives. For all the "ear marks”, how many times did he read a book during the regular season? Or Preseason? "The media” does nothing. They asked questions because of his actions. If he wants to troll the media, than troll them. But stop with the "gee shucks why do you guys always think I’m frustrated?”

The guy the media wants to play victim but says "nah” is Devonta Smith.

And the "media would rather drama than them win” is such a nonsense cliche. Winning draws interest. When there’s drama like last seasons collapse, people check out and stop paying attention.

He doesnt do it on purpose like say the way TO did. No where near that type of person. He is majorly misunderstood and gets a bad rap, it's a shame.

Come on, AJ’s all about the attention and drama. I mean, this stunt was well thought out before the game.

He’s an amazing player but the team just won a playoff game. Be happy, who cares about your stats.

4D chess. He did it so no one would attack hurts for playing like ish

The loss of Dean for the rest of the season sucks.

Would you have respected it more if it were hardcover?

Nah, AJ's right about it. There was an entire portion of last offseason where people kept saying they thought he wanted out of Philly when it was based off absolutely nothing and totally made up. He has every right to have a beef with the media. The only real counter is that the media isn't a monolith and each reporter is different, so if you want to defend it from that perspective, fine, but the media has constantly tried to stir the flames over absolutely nothing. For as much talk as the guy gets about being a diva and being unhappy, I've seen the dude be animated on the sidelines like once in his entire time in Philly. Everything else is just projection, "body language reading" and other BS. And then reporters or sports talk hosts not stopping there and totally making crap up like he doesn't want to be here.

The AJ Brown discourse has long been off the rails and the narratives aren't justified based on what's actually happened.

So he had the foresight to know Hurts was going to have a bad game so he brought his book with him as a prop…yeah, ok.

It's pretty easy to predict.  Eagles have a game? Hurts is gonna have a bad one.  Like clock work.

Yeah I'm sure he planned it out... Got nothing better to do than concoct schemes to have the media start controversy. He's misunderstood completely. I listened to his lockeroom interview, he sounded plenty "happy" enough.

If you value point differential, the Rams are -19 on the season, by far the worst of the playoff NFC teams. I'd love the Rams Monday night, but it'll probably be the vikings because nothing ever comes easy.

So he just happened to have a book with him on the sidelines… of course it was planned.

Hate to say it about Nakobe, but of our 11 defensive starters…. Glad it was him

In the last 25+ years only 3 NFC teams have not made the NFC championship game. Lions, Commies and the Cowboys. Next week there will be only one other keeping the Cowboys company. Lol

His teammates are aware of the book and how he reads it, they call it the " recipe" apparently, what would you rather he do on the sideline sitting on the bench? Smitty was next to him just chilling with a coat on, is that bad good? If brown wants to do sodoku on the sideline cuz it helps him focus who cares, its not like he was looking at porn on the sideline.

Of course the media is going to make more out of it than it is

If Brown had 150 yards and 2 tds and was reading his book on the sideline would it be a problem or causing drama?

Dudes an all pro ,again, playing on a team that throws the ball like 20 times a game eagles wom a hard fought playoff game and people want to cause drama over him reading an inspirational passage on the sideline.

No drama except what the stupid philly media makes.

Lions were in the NFCCG last year

I can't get past that. Finally had LB and a dominant D. Things got so much harder.

Feels like when Wentz went down. Hopefully with similar results, but that's what this feels like, especially since he was the QB of the defense. Trott Jr needs to start because OB sucks.

I’m not saying he’s a bad guy and not a leader.  But some people like to catch attention and agitate.  He flies right into the turbulent air on this stuff and does it for the reactions.

If his teammates understand that that is his shtick, and they don't have a problem with what he does, then what is the harm?

Is there some rule or thing that only I am missing on the numerous plays this year where Hurts is chased out of the pocket and slides for a 3 yard loss rather than throw the ball away which was immediately feasible?

The only explanation I can come up with is that he believes a lineman is downfield, and a penalty will be assessed.  However, if that is his thinking it is flawed.  I would take 1st and 15 over 2nd and 13 every day of the week.  The coaches need to fix that.

Agreed that he’s not that type of person.  Agreed that he may be very misunderstood.  Agreed that he doesn’t deserve a bad rap.

But I disagree that he doesn’t do it on purpose.  He knowingly has said and done odd stuff that put him under that microscope.  He could have stayed out of it if he wanted.

I too think he does it on purpose, but I don't see it as a problem given his teammates' reaction(s).

I get what you’re saying but it’s a pretty selfish attitude IMO. If AJ is just being AJ then what’s stopping Devonta from being Devonta? Or Q from being Q? Etc

Can’t have everyone on the sideline reading books. Someone has to be the grownup. Lane can’t be Lane because someone has to answer questions about AJ being AJ etc. Wish he’d just play football and stop looking for attention that his teammates don’t seem to be looking for.

idk what the defense looks like going forward without him, hopefully they can still perform well enough to get the job done.
