People just can't help themselves with giving this guy crap.

He should just read it in the blue tent and give everyone something different to freak out about.

The Eagles are the only NFC team that can give the Lions a game.  Under the right circumstances, we could probably pummel them too.  Or, of course, we might not even make it past the divisional round to Detroit.

But if the Eagles were to lose in the divisional round…the Lions could be looking at two of the most incomprehensibly easy playoff opponents between them and the SB.

Eagles' 2004 run... Eagles' 2017 run were similar, IMHO.

Obviously we match up better against the Rams who Saquon can run all over again but I think our Defense could give Darnold some serious issues.    Either way, I'm very confident for next week.  This is where the #2 Seed is still beneficial, we are Home again next week.

Well there will be no Tampa Rematch.  I don't care if it's the Rams or Vikings, they should be able to win the next round.  (The Eagles have an All-Time Winning record against both teams).

Well, that is the most important factor going into a game.

It really is Stuart Smalley stuff.

In hindsight, saying that after a 290 yard 2 TD passing performance against one of the worst passing defenses in the nfl….as if he just lit someone up for 400 yards and 4tds and silenced all the doubters…kind of shows how low the bar for his passing has become.

His own personal bar.

I always look at the historical numbers.  Eagles Lead Vikings 16-15 and Lead Rams 24-20 (Reg/Playoffs).  For the playoff record:

4-0 against the Vikings (1-0 Wild Card, 2-0 Divisional, 1-0 NFC Champ) (All Eagles recent Super Bowl Runs sans 2022.  Includes Super Bowl LII Win)

1-2 against the Rams (Only win was NFL Championship, losses in Wild Card and NFC Championship)

So based on history, I guess the Vikings is our best bet.

I think it's pretty cool that he keeps the book with him.  I am hoping he will end up with a few breakout games moving forward.  He has the ability to take over a game just like Saquon.  We just need some competent quarterback play and play design to get him the ball.

Nothing against Houston as they have shut a lot of people up with back to back Wild Card and Division wins.  But It was always going to be Patrick, Josh and Lamar.    The question is Chiefs V Ravens rematch or Chiefs V Bills rematch.

Burks had a really rough game yesterday filling in for Nakobe after he went down. Hopefully he can just hold his own moving forward because he’s going to be targeted a lot by opposing teams.

not sure who i would rather play sunday

i am leaning vikings bc stafford is always capable of going off

What stinks is the Bills and Ravens will beat each other up and the victor gets to limp to KC

This is the advantage of being the #1 Seed, you get to avoid all the chaos of Wild Card Weekend.  Yes Ravens V Bills will be a bloodbath.   Hopefully Washington gives the Lions a game so they won't coast to the NFC Title game.

As ugly as that seemed yesterday at times, the combo of good running game, dominant defense, and limited mistakes is a winning formula.

Is there another team left in NFC with a better defense than the packers?

Agreed that he’s not that type of person.  Agreed that he may be very misunderstood.  Agreed that he doesn’t deserve a bad rap.

But I disagree that he doesn’t do it on purpose.  He knowingly has said and done odd stuff that put him under that microscope.  He could have stayed out of it if he wanted.

It was the only way anyone would have noticed he suited up in yesterday's game.

The Packers aren't as good as the Lions or Vikings but they have been very difficult to beat all year and they have a tough D.  They've lost 4 very close games to Lions/Eagles/Vikings.  The 2 that weren't that close were last night to the Eagles and then a 10pt loss to the Lions.

It felt like the Eagles just played to control the game scoring on the last three drives not including the ending drive where Saquon would have scored if he hadn't have slid down.

I don't really care if it is the Vikings or the Rams.  Stafford scares me much more than Darnold but the Vikings D could give us some trouble.  Same formula of running, not turning the ball over, and playing excellent D should mean a W.

I'd actually prefer the Vikings....Do not believe in Darnold, do think them going have to go cross country to play the Rams, then having to go cross country home, then having to travel to Philly on a short week would make a difference....and honestly do not think that they are THAT good.  Also, yes...we already beat the Rams....I HATE having to do a re-do in the playoffs against a team you already beat.

Do the Vikings even have a running game to worry about? Go after Darnold all game long. Make his life miserable.

The only explanation I can come up with is that he believes a lineman is downfield, and a penalty will be assessed.  However, if that is his thinking it is flawed.  I would take 1st and 15 over 2nd and 13 every day of the week.  The coaches need to fix that.

That IS his thinking.  We heard that from him the last time he sacked himself on a play like that.  But that time it was closer to a 7 yard loss than only 3.    It's improving.

I get what you’re saying but it’s a pretty selfish attitude IMO. If AJ is just being AJ then what’s stopping Devonta from being Devonta? Or Q from being Q? Etc

Can’t have everyone on the sideline reading books. Someone has to be the grownup. Lane can’t be Lane because someone has to answer questions about AJ being AJ etc. Wish he’d just play football and stop looking for attention that his teammates don’t seem to be looking for.

While the defense is on the field seems like a perfect time for a Book Club meeting.   Those things are tough to coordinate with everyone's busy schedule, especially coming out of the holiday season.   You gotta take advantage of your opportunities.

Packers came into the game 5th in total Defense.  I think they flew under the radar and people underestimated them on Defense.   Also yes your QB will be sluggish and rusty after 3 weeks off.  I feel as the game went on Jalen was getting better. We had some crucial drives there near the end.  I think they said only Donovan Mncabb and someone else won a Playoff game after not throwing for 3 weeks like Jalen just did.   All things considered  Jalen made sure to not take any unnecessary risk and played clean football.  You saw what all those turnovers did to Love and Herbert.

We need to worry about the Vikings Defense, that's their strength.   Yes they have Jefferson but if the D takes care of Darnold, that will effect his WR's play.  Again they won 14 games, it won't be a cakewalk but I believe we can beat them.

That's the real benefit of the 1 seed.

Vikings

Just stopped in to learn how badly we were beaten and how badly everybody played.

By all accounts, very badly.

Mike Schmidt was so right.
